I took the time of going back and reading alot of the post made by both the "fulmerites" and the other fans who want change. I then went back and looked at their season predictions.

Conclusion:
The recent fire coaches post are coming from the typical fire coaches Posters, which are the same ones that predicted this many losses or more at the beginning of the season. Most of you guys before season started, thought that we would have lost more than this and probably should be considering this a successful year seeing how you thought we would have lost more.

The people who are wanting to keep the coaches, "fulmerites", are the same ones that thought we should win 10-13 games this season, this is probably a dissappointing year for them, yet they still tend to defend the coaches.

My point is that it seems to me that no matter what, I dont think the opinions of this board are changed very much. If we win the NC and loose the next year, we will need to replace the coach. If we win 9 games or 5, some loyalist are going to want to keep the coach. Myself I am just glad to be a vol fan and hope that our boys who go out there will kick Vandy and KY a$$. I am just a little tired of the same argument. Go VOLS.

I think it is just a matter of us losing several big games this year. Really the only big victory is against Cal. I think as the season progresses the Golden Bears will be exposed as very overrated. The difference between this year and last is that we beat the crappy teams this season. UT is still nowhere near where they need to be.

I might be one of the few exceptions. I predicted an 11-1 or 10-2 season, winning the SEC East. I thought we could actually have that UT fire for 12 games, but we had it for 9.

I think I'm quite close to wanting Fulmer to step down.

So you start a thread that adds to the discussion?

I think the loss to Arizona Saturday confirmed what I've said about Cal all year.

I am not sure what to say about cpf. So what are some reasons we should fire him? Examples

Fulmer's not the best HC out there, but I think the staff he has now with Chavis and Cutcliffe, is probably as good as any new coach is going to put together. I'm not ready for Fulmer to go, I've seen some glimmer of hope this season.

i'm not saying fulmer and chavis aren't good coaches. they were. but as is with many a coach in big time sports, they lose their fire where they are and need to move on to get it back. I'm finally beginning to believe that is what's happening here. Fulmer and Chavis are just going through the motions which is why I think it's time for a change

The biggest issue with Fulmer is obviously no SEC Championships for 8 seasons. Also, a .606 winning percentage vs ranked opponents doesn't help. And a seemingly unending stream of off-field problems with his players.

This as about as honest an appraisal as one is likely to read, and while I have not jumped the wagon yet, I will say this.

For me right now it's mostly about whether CPF can keep this team together and focused. I said the same thing last week, and the returns on the Arky game preparations do not bode well for the current regime, as Hat likes to call it. There is still a season to be played, and I'm waiting until all the returns are in.
VnAZ said already, its a confused time.

Keep this bunch together coach, and I'll wind up standing behind you...

well i was a little too stern, i'm still willing to give them time to rebound, but the seats are warming up. Not being prepared to pay Arkansas at all was a huge let down. it was just ugly. I don't need the win, I don't need an SECC every five years... I'd like to be in contention more for those SECC's though and I'd like to think no matter what we can go up against anybody and make it a game. Fulmer and Co. used to have that ability.

Come on, O+W. You're not actually going to give a Tennessee coach kudos for beating Vanderbilt and Kentucky, are you? Has the program deteriorated that badly?

Nope. If we pull these last two off and make a bowl then I give the credit to the boys on the field.

Hat is right (I just threw up in my mouth a little), beating the doors and the cats should be a given.

I won't be looking so much at the wins over these guys(I'm expecting the wins) so much as I will be looking at how this football team conducts itself. If a coach no longer has his players, this time right now...when the goals are in the crapper... is when it will show up.

Opening arguments are coming up in December, maybe January with a continuance, I want all the info I can get before making a decision.

You should be smiling Hat, I'm closer to the edge of the bandwagon than I have ever been on Fulmer...

Not so fast...what about the 51 we hung on UGA? Looks pretty good after they did the same to Auburn.

Agreed. About 95% of the posts after the Arkansas game are the same as the last offseason. The Negavols are now out in force after a loss like Saturdays. Anything but perfection gets a rise out of them.

If the Vols go on to win 10 games this season, that will be 10-win seasons 3 times in a four year span. In the Vols history, that can only be matched by the Vols' 3 straight 10+ win seasons from 1938-40 and a stretch in 1990s ('93-'98) when the Vols won 10+ games 5 times in 6 seasons.

No, it doesn't. That would be a UGA squad that lost to Vandy and Kentucky.

That's true, but after watching every snap on Saturday, I have to say that the UGA defense isn't nearly as bad as we made them look.

How many SEC titles will those 3 10 win seasons have netted? I love how the Fulmerites act like people who expect us to win an SEC title more than once a decade think fans are asking for perfection.
