Our season (just an observation)

What do seasons a decade ago have to do with the here and now? By that logic, Bobby Bowden should be the coach at Florida State until death, even if he goes 0-12 for the next 5 years. Using your reasoning, all a coach has to do is have a stretch of success, then they're immune from accountability.

Well, like it or not, sometimes you die by the same sword you live with. Guys like Joe Pa and Bowden will never be fired because of what they've meant to their universities as a whole. Bowden will never be fired because he IS the reason Fla State is who they are. They were never even on the map until he took over the program. Yes the program has slipped over the last few years, but he is looked at as deserving more dignity than that. The same goes for Paterno. I mean the guy's name is synonymous with Penn State.

I took the time of going back and reading alot of the post made by both the "fulmerites" and the other fans who want change. I then went back and looked at their season predictions.

Conclusion:
The recent fire coaches post are coming from the typical fire coaches Posters, which are the same ones that predicted this many losses or more at the beginning of the season. Most of you guys before season started, thought that we would have lost more than this and probably should be considering this a successful year seeing how you thought we would have lost more.

The people who are wanting to keep the coaches, "fulmerites", are the same ones that thought we should win 10-13 games this season, this is probably a dissappointing year for them, yet they still tend to defend the coaches.

My point is that it seems to me that no matter what, I dont think the opinions of this board are changed very much. If we win the NC and loose the next year, we will need to replace the coach. If we win 9 games or 5, some loyalist are going to want to keep the coach. Myself I am just glad to be a vol fan and hope that our boys who go out there will kick Vandy and KY a$$. I am just a little tired of the same argument. Go VOLS.
Is slowly turning into a continuation of last year.:whistling:

To those who think Spurrier isn't available: where is a better place to coach - Knoxville or Columbia?

To those who think Saban won't be fired at Miami - Remember Spurrier, Wannstedt, etc. If Saban were fired, he'd take the job at UT in a heartbeat.

UT should take Saben in a heartbeat. fulmer is nowhere near his greatness.

i think spurrier would take the golf in SC over any course in TN

Tennessee has taken a huge step up with the addition of Norman's Tennessee National. Add that to East Tennessee's offerings in Crossville, the Smokies, and some recent improvements around Knoxville, and you've got yourself some quality and picturesque golf.

i agree... a native east tennessean i've played some beautiful courses there. but the condition and price of courses in SC are a very good selling point for spurrier

The Honors Course is by far and away the best golf in TN. Probably better than about any course in SC.

SC has more good courses, i.e. Harbor Town, Long Cove, and Colletin (sp?) River, to name a few. They are all in HH. Columbia golf isn't very good.

Colleton River is by far the nicest course I have ever played. Spring Island and Oldfield are also nice offerings.

I live in upstate SC and there are some incredible courses up here (Cliffs courses, Lake courses, etc). Columbia golf sucks. But mountain and coast golf is some of the best in southeast.

I've played all of those courses, and I would not call them anything special. The coastal courses are good for public golf courses, but nothing special aside from the HH courses.

Shanticlear in Greenville is a good course.

Wade Hampton, in NC, is absolutely fantastic.

I won't be looking so much at the wins over these guys(I'm expecting the wins) so much as I will be looking at how this football team conducts itself. If a coach no longer has his players, this time right now...when the goals are in the crapper... is when it will show up.

Opening arguments are coming up in December, maybe January with a continuance, I want all the info I can get before making a decision.

You should be smiling Hat, I'm closer to the edge of the bandwagon than I have ever been on Fulmer...

If UT drops either of these 2 games, he will prove to completely void of any formidable directional control and leadership. Only week to week sustanance.

I live accross the lake just in Ga. Nothing in the upstate compares to Cateechee over in Hartwell. Maybe Thornblades. Actually, not much in all of GA does. Arrowhead pointe at Richard B. Russell Park in Elberton is great. Highland Walk is very nice. Brasstown Valley. As far as SC upstate courses, I've played Oconee CC, Southern something in Easley. A nice course in Greenwood. A CC off Hwy. 25 area...Pebble Creek? Athens CC is also very good.
