rem? like several of these, I agree about a lot of the new stuff...

I always felt like rem and u2 both rode the same wave of momentum in the 80's... if you liked u2 you prolly liked rem...

I've never been a fan of U2. Plus, I can't stand any band that shoves their political views down everyone's throat.

Not liking them and thinking they are overrated are two entirely different things.

Nothing about this is scientific fact. Its all about opinions. So, to him, not liking them equates to them being overrated.

Saying Metallica is overrated is just blasphemy! Ridiculousness!!!! Don't let their later stuff influence you to speak such nonsense

I disagree. I don't like soccer at all, but I respect it has a sport. I don't like rap very much, but I think people like Jay-Z and Eminem are uber talented.

Depends.

Old school U2 (from "War" to "The Joshua Tree") is as good as it gets.

After that, I would agree with your assessment. They've lost it.

Same thing goes for the Stones, to a lesser extent. British invasion era Stones were good (better than the Beatles, I think), but aside from that...

Meh. Even the old stuff. They have some good songs. A lot of them sound the same. None of the albums are really special. I wouldn't say any of their work is as good as it gets.

RHCP are one of those bands that I liked then I saw them live and haven't cared for them since.

I saw them with the Foo Fighters in Knoxville and I thought Foo put on the better show. I later saw RHCP again and they did a much better job.
