Money maker in the sense that it put AMC original programming on the map. If Mad Men failed there might not be Breaking Bad. Obviously ratings don't equal quality.

That is what I do not understand. Jon Hamm stinks. Do not know what the fascination is exactly.

I could of sworn that they both aired around the same time. Mad men was before breaking bad, but breaking bad was so epic that it took a while for them to realize it and actually renew the show and continue the story. I may be wrond on that, but it is certainly what comes to mind. Does not seem like they were far enough apart in debut for mad men to be considered far superior. I just can't sit through an entire epsiode of mad men and I did try to watch it in the beginning. Just never appealed to me.
