Kid has a great relationship with Shoop. In the end I doubt it's enough to get him down here. A phenomenal season could potentially change that, though.

Where have you been? He's committing on Thursday.

That'd be great. There's always a chance that the gameday atmosphere here can sway a kid. It's pretty overwhelming.

That said, Narduzzi has a ton of momentum. He's gonna leave them with an elite defense when he takes a high profile job in 2017.

I think he's selling these kids that he'll be there long term, and I think they're the favorite at the time of this post for Lamont.

Not direction smart ..but wade lives in Pennsylvania...in school...coming to Knoxville while schools going on and leaving right after the game to go back home to play his game...sounds pretty interested to me...

I agree, he could have easily made it to one of the Saturday game. I know in saying this I will become a VN recruit expert and everyone will be hanging onto every word I say about a player from now on, this one we will get. What now! What Now! That's right I said it!

PFort just said that Wade and his family are actually driving down for Thursday's game. Said he felt this really tells us something about how interested he is in Tennessee. I just assumed they were flying given his tight timeline with his highschool game on Friday. But they're DRIVING down. Also said there won't be many top recruits on campus so the staff can spend extra, undivided time with him. This all sounds very good to me.

When you go to state to buy land, you typically need to drive incase you need to stay an additional day or two to close the deal and get the deed to the property.

"Down the Monongahela River in Clairton, cornerback Lamont Wade tweeted that he will be visiting Tennessee for week one when the Vols host Appalachian State during the first night of college football action. This is probably a good thing for Pitt, as Wade, who is seriously flirting with former Penn State defensive coordinator Bob Shoop at Rocky Top, will favor the Pitt-Penn State game on Sept. 10 over the rip-roaring Tennessee-Virginia Tech contest at Bristol Motor Speedway the same day.

The recent Tennessee obsession by WPIAL recruits has been puzzling to me. Tyler Boyd nearly chose the Vols in 2012, and don’t count the Vols out for Wade’s pledge. Wade’s parents have said repeatedly that it would be nice for him to attend school out of state. He’s down to a final eight of Pitt, Penn State, Tennessee, West Virginia, Ohio State, Mississippi State, UCLA and Alabama."

I sure hope we can get Wade to commit to Rocky Top. That would be a great get. He likes Shoop so that's a big plus for us. I think we have a solid shot at landing him. He's going to be a really good college player wherever he plays.
