Path to a #1 seed

Sure. If both us and UF win out we will both be 1s. Bama would be out and Houston wouldn’t go ahead of either of us, even if they win out. Hopefully Texas Tech will make this easier on us tonight but if we take care of biz we will get the 1. If we lose a game then we need help.
So you are predicting :
AU
DUKE
TN
FL
——
HOUSTON? (If they win out? )

Florida dropping today against UGA would go a long way. I think Houston if they win out probably gets one spot. A second SEC team between vols, Florida, and bama will get another. (AU and Duke getting two)

I’m not really predicting anything but if UF, UT and Houston all win out we’re one of the 1 seeds. I would think UF would get it over Houston there as well. The odds of all 3 of us winning out aren’t great though. UF will lose at least 1, maybe 2. Houston is either 0 or 1 and we’re likely 0 or 1.

Looking increasingly likely that we'll need to win our last 4 and make it to at least Saturday of the SEC tournament to get a 1 seed. Houston's only loss in their last 21 games was by 1 point, and in that span they've got road wins at Arizona, Kansas, and Texas Tech, along with a win over Iowa State.

I've never really asked Georgia basketball to do anything for me before. But it would be very nice for them to come through tonight with a big win.

Excuse me sir this is the ‘Path to a #1 seed’ thread. There is an official game thread for tonight’s game if that’s all you prefer to discuss.
If we just win out though, we will be in good position for a 1 seed. Don't need to worry about others.

I know this. All we have to do is win out to get a #1 seed. What Florida and Houston do are irrelevant to us as long as we win out.

I’m not counting the SECT. We don’t know what the bracket is or who our opponents are. Also, the committee in the past has clearly disregarded conference tourney results. And even if they do Houston is going to be the favorite in theirs and I’d think the committee would reward for winning.

Therefore if between now and the end of the regular season if Vols, Florida and Houston have won their remaining games I don’t see how we’ll have moved past them on the seed line. We could certainly use the help, and the games I posted above are the most likely path for us to rise to the 1 seed

Am prepared for a #2 seed and keeping fingers crossed that we hold onto that seed. Proud of this team. Go Vols

We are not below Houston on the seed line. When the Selection Committee released the top 16 seeds last week, we were #5 overall and Houston was #8. I don't know where anyone is getting the idea Houston has moved ahead of us other than making it up in their own heads.

As long as we win our last 4 regular season games, we will be a #1 seed because we would have passed Bama and Houston is still behind us.

Houston is a 2-seed and Florida is a 1-seed in his most recent bracket released 11 hours ago.
He released his seed list 1 hour ago and Houston is on the 1-seed line.

1. Auburn
2. Duke
3. Alabama
4. Houston
5. Florida
6. Tennessee

These are his Top 6 overall seeds but states Florida will jump back up with a win against Georgia tonight. Which means he will still have Houston 1 spot ahead of us regardless of the outcomes tonight with us and Florida. He also states Bama likely needs to beat Miss. State tonight to hold onto a 1-seed in the future due to upcoming schedule.

How often does he change his mind? Good grief. No games played between his last bracketology update and the list you showed. That's goofy.

It’s a current snapshot of his list at the exact moment he releases it. It has no predictions in it. Which is why he will change it again once more games are played. I’m assuming he doesn’t change the bracket in case Florida were to win which he then would move them right back up to where they were in the bracket. If not, his next bracket release would incorporate Houston as a 1-seed in the bracket.
