Path to a #1 seed

I respectfully disagree. If we win out I am 100% confident we will be a #1 seed regardless of what anyone else does.
Completely agree. I usually leave a little room so would say like 98% or 99% sure but I’m extremely confident so I’m at 100% along with you. We win out and we are absolutely a 1 seed.

My point is the same as it was when I first mentioned it. Purdue wasn't a " Frontrunner" for a #1 seed.
As far as your new prediction, if Tennessee wins out they will be a #1 seed.
Beating a current #1 seed Alabama will catapult us into their spot.
Us winning out is a big "if", tho.
We will likely be favored in every game the rest of the way, although Bama and Ole Miss will be very tight lines. I’d say we’re -2 against Bama and -5 or so at Ole Miss. Just guessing, of course.

Are we at a point where the 3rd 1 seed is possible or do yall think its 4th 1 seed or nothing?

Just based on schedule and matchup with Bama, I could see us leaping them with a win?

Disregard - had brain fart and totally forgot about Florida

Florida would probably have to drop 2 for us to have a chance to catch them

I think many on here are selling us short based on nothing more than BVS. If we win out I truly believe, at worst, we’re the 3rd #1 seed based on our body of work. Some of you will disagree, and that’s fine. I’m basing my outlook on the metrics and am not changing my stance.

Imo this team is kinda enigmatic. I think with our lack of depth and tendency to go cold on offense at times, some are not confident in our overall durability. However, like you said, our body of work reflects a top NCAA team, and our rankings also reflect that. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I see us as a glass cannon - powerful and capable of inflicting major damage, but susceptible to small disruptions that could significantly lower our ceiling. Barnes and the team have done an especially great job managing the roster deficiencies and being more adaptive on a game-to-game basis, and that significantly mitigates the susceptibility imo. I'm sure some will disagree, but I think we've been playing above expectations all season; any way you slice it, Barnes & co have this team humming.

Not to derail the conversation, but I would like to point out that UT is in the discussion for actually being a #1 seed, yet there are people who still question CRB's ability.

Go Vols! CRB has the Vols knocking on the door of greatness!

Please explain if FL wins out as well.
Sure. If both us and UF win out we will both be 1s. Bama would be out and Houston wouldn’t go ahead of either of us, even if they win out. Hopefully Texas Tech will make this easier on us tonight but if we take care of biz we will get the 1. If we lose a game then we need help.

As long as FL doesn’t win out either . They beat KY and AU . We didn’t
Our best 3 non conference wins (Louisville, Baylor, and Illinois) are all top 30 and better than any non conference win that UF has. If we beat Bama, our overall resume is really better than theirs. They didn’t beat Missouri.

Interesting. I think this might be the toughest team Barnes has had. They certainly seem to be more capable of overcoming adversity than any of his teams I remember.
