Peace-loving and religiously tolerant Muslims in Egypt

Nice gesture if true, if they would do more of that sort of thing I might get off their case.

Did you hear about the governor in Pakistan who was murdered by his own body guards because he recomended clemency for the Christian woman they want to kill for blasphemey??

There is a post in the compendium thread about the riots they are currently having over the Pope calling for the repeal of blasphemy laws. They burned the "Pop" in effigy.

I hear it was only a small percentage of the Nazis that were involved in the extermination of Jews.

The Muslims have succeeded in nearly eradicating Christianity from the lands where it originated, regardless of what percentage is actually carrying out the policy.

:twocents:

A handful of Muslim terrorists killed 21 Christians. Therefore, all Muslims want to kill all Christians.

Hard to argue with that.

One loon shoots up a grocery store and you attach it to all of right wing radio yet countless violent acts are happening by Muslims and its wrong to attach them to the entire religion as a whole?

I smell hypocrisy.

Mmmm. Smells like liberal.

Egypt does have the good sense to outlaw the muslim brotherhood which we allow to run rampant in America, recruiting on college campuses etc.

Off-duty policeman kills man, injures five others in Egypt | Egypt News.Net

Off duty policeman boarded a train and shot a 71 year old Christian to death and wounded five others.

Man, where the hell is that link I had about a handful of Christians killing 1.4 million Muslims... I don't think it was on a train, though. Memory is fuzzy.

Just commenting on the hypocrisy of above poster(s) who get their panties in a bunch when a handful of Christians are killed, but don't bat an eye lid when 1.4 million Muslims are killed (~ estimation of Iraqi civilian casualties) by, mostly, Christians.

Gotcha. I was slightly confused. I wasn't aware the number was that high.

1.4 million sounds very high. Is this counting secondary or tertiary repercussions of the invasion?

Gotcha. I was slightly confused. I wasn't aware the number was that high.

Depends on who you look at, coalition responsible deaths by direct military action is placed around 50,000, or so.

But overall death toll, due to destabilized government, fighting between factions, and all the insanity ensuing is estimated to be around 1.4 mil.

I'd say the 1.4 mil is high and the 50,000 is low, but absence a body count, can only estimate.

So what are the numbers of Christians killed by Muslims since 2001? Couldn't possibly be that high, right?

Yes.

So it includes people killed by Muslims who are killing to try and hurt the Christians...

I don't like BS numbers. I could have bought as many as a few hundred thousand, but you might as well include anyone that died of cancer during the invasion/occupation.

Your first statement is gibberish, sober up and come back and take another shot.

Not my numbers, but an estimation of wound related death (cancer doesn't normally present with IED secondary fragmentation, for what that is worth) by a Hopkins study; that'd be the, uh, "scientific" one.

Taking a page from gsvol and leading off with insults- nice.

You're not talking about the Hopkins study that estimated 655,000 deaths, are you?

Link?

You're blaming christians for the Iraq war? Am I reading that right?

Please tell me you did not just do that.

Actually, that would be straight BPV, though he would have cased "consider a reload.". And since when is being drunk an insult?

And yes, that would be the one I refer; the 1.4 mil is based on conclusion of the study stating 500 casualties per day, in average, times number of days.

This obviously wouldn't take into account Increased and decreased intensities, as that would be presumed in the average.

But you know a bit about trends, already.

Please tell me you did not just do that.

So those that votes to go to war were not Christian? How about the majority of those that deployed? Christian or other?

I didn't say Christians caused it, I said Christians mostly did the killing.

How can they even come up with estimates of tertiary deaths?

Let's say a car bomb set to blow up an American backed Iraqi polical representative kills an Iraqi civilian, who do you blame?

Definitely not coalition forces, though unlikely to occur without the invasion, thus, secondary and tertiary deaths.

Updated Iraq Survey Affirms Earlier Mortality Estimates

Unless I'm missing something, you misrepresented the estimate by over 50 %, and the estimate itself attributes deaths by coalition forces (or at the hands of Christians) at about 30 % at the most.

Don't come spouting off about science when you have the numbers all wrong for the source you named.

When was that updated last? What year is it now?

Like I said, you understand trends, right?
