I don't like it one bit that Pearl lied after putting himself in a situation where he thought he had to. But, I for one, don't want to have our BB program in shambles like FB is now because of words uttered by Pearl.

You probably have never liked Pearl, but he is a very competitive person and is doing what he believes needs to be done to run a top program. I don't like what he did, but I don't want to roll the dice on a new coach now and suffer through a football like decade.

I still don't get it. Hat isn't coaching our teams and isn't doing stupid crap to follow up by getting caught.

Glossing over CBPs first "snitching" incident as comparable to what some us might have done as kids is borderline insane. It was a pretty significant incident, regardless how you couch it. Most of us have forgotten it as a bygone, but it was utter crap. He paid his dues, but it doesn't diminish what it was.

As to the current situation, slinging mud at the messenger diminishe snothing either. In fact, the current situation and the intervening sanctimony suggest that Hat's conclusion is probably true.

While I am not blind enough to acknowledge what Pearl did was wrong, I also believe he should be given another chance. I believe this was the first time he has done wrong as far as the ncaa is concerned. Give the man another chance and screw the NCAA for having bogus rules in place.
