h it. Most of us have forgotten it as a bygone, but it was utter crap. He paid his dues, but it doesn't diminish what it was.

Most, but not all. Some people seem to have taken it so personally twenty years ago that they still literally hate the man. :eek:lol:

While I am not blind enough to acknowledge what Pearl did was wrong, I also believe he should be given another chance. I believe this was the first time he has done wrong as far as the ncaa is concerned. Give the man another chance and screw the NCAA for having bogus rules in place.

Amen Brother. Glad to see another poster see that the NCAA rules are bogus. At least most of the rules.

If someone views it as the ultimate in sleazy, why wouldn't they? You don't get to dictate what people find reprehensible. You also don't get to wipe away CBP's unbelievably hypocritical piety, which is what has kept the incident at the fore for the guy.

He has been a Godsend to UT hoops, but the overwhelming sentiment in the coaching community us negative and deteriorating. The faux piety is the issue.

Just a general question. What would happen if the NCAA ceased to exist in the event of super conferences forming in the future?

The NCAA Rules Committee, which consist of some coaches. Yes, I know.
That would be for on field competition. The off field recruiting stuff is promulgated mainly by the member institutions. If they don't like the rules, they've got nobody but themselves to blame.

Hat said he doesn't like Pearl because he snitched at one point in his life, and "once a snitch always a snitch."

I wonder if hat doesn't like himself...

Hey I think we might be getting somewhere :eek:lol:

Snitches get stitches, and, as Hatvol96 alluded to, it's not common. I don't recall a time that I snitched.

It's been twenty years. People change.

What makes you think he has changed? There is nothing to support that. It's just an opinion. You think people change, Hat clearly thinks beig a snitch as an adult says much more about one's character than other things. Recent happenings suggest that all the intervening moralizing was absolute crap.

I don't understand why that's tough to see, even for the blindest of Pearl supporters out there.

In an interview with Sports Ills. last Sunday, Pearl indicated that he was embarrassed by the violations in his program, but hopes that they don't lead to termination because he runs a clean program.

Embarrassed by violations = Clean Program?
:eek:lol:

Maybe they are OK with them but I'm not.

And it is an opinion that he is a hypocrite.

Of course it is, but he has touted his sheer honesty as the driver for his actions back then. He has also steadfastly held that e would do it again because he's so darned honest.

In my experience, the biggest liars on earth are those having to remind everyone of their honesty.

Uhm no, it's been twenty years since he snitched. Which is your entire reason for calling him a hypocrite.

And he recently just lied about a damn photo and some phone calls.

Some change, some don't. It's ostensibly a foreign concept to Pearl.
