Pearl Grants Griffith's Wish

Coming into the game and being expected to hit a few 3's, yea. He isn't and wasn't "brought in" to be this big time stud 3 point shooter, by me atleast. If he was he would have had a scholly from day one. I'd like to see more consistancy from him though. I think he could be a verry good shooter, it looks like he tries to hard to me.

But I thought it was all about Pearl and I seem to recall an article when he first got here where Pearl turned to a group of fans assembled for a Saturday pre-football game practice and said "Looks like we have a new Rutledge Rifle".

Seems like Pearl expected him to be that, or at least advertised him as such.

I have asked this before (never answered). What other teams would Kansas McBee be getting this much playing time or for that matter be on scholly?

Not saying you are one, but the problem with our fan base right now is that some hope to see any option fail. Many hope Skylar at pg is a failure, so they can come on here and brag about being right. It's pathetic. BP has to try something and do it now. Desperate times brings out desperate decisions. If you guys don't think the vols should be and are desperate right now you are kidding yourselves.

Yes. This team needs a spark, and BP is doing what he thinks needs to be done to provide that spark. For those saying if Bruce was a good coach he would not have to change things up to get that spark. Get real. To me a good coach knows his players, and knows what it takes to motivate those players. I dont' doubt part of the reason Goins may not start is his head injury. However, I do think McBee or Bone starting is also a message to him to get his crap together.

Not very many. You would think he would though, being that he is an underachieving 3 pt stud who was brought in to make it rain every game.

I've proposed the novel concept of having the best players be the primary ball handlers. But, you're right. McBee running the show is clearly the better option.

Has anyone said McBee running the show is a permanant move, or that he will be the one running the show over Bone if Goins can't play?

I want nothing more than for the program to lift hardware.

With that said, I don't want to see Skylar at point.

The likelyhood of you having to for more than a game or 2 is very slim. Just let the thing play out.

Auburn, LSU, Miss st, ole miss and south car would take him.
and thats the level we are striving for? Hansborough transferred from Miss State and by all accounts is a much better player than Kansas Mac

25 games in and from what you have seen, what do you do? We can't count on Goins at pg right now and Golden has struggled the last few as well with few assists, high TO's and 20% from the field. I'd rather not see Skylar there either but from the ball I've seen this year, I'm ready to see if he can get the ball to some guys in scoring position. That is all I expect. If he has 0 points, but 6-7 assists, the team will play well.

Again. Read the post I responded to and see if you can pick up some context clues.

Ever practice what you preach? Letting the best players handle the ball is not a new concept. That is what we have been doing, and we are on a 3 game losing streak. Change is needed. Period.

I think actually watching the games would be a good idea for you.

You obviously leave everything alone and hope for the best.

Keep the lineup up the way it is, yet climb in the rear-ends of your better players to step up and take charge. If you want to hide the PG, as Bruce is leaning towards, then hide your better athletes who don't pose such a glaring weakness on the defensive end. Much better than throwing a guy who can't play the position. Not fair to the team, or even McBee for that matter.
