He can still "love Tennessee," but also leverage other opportunities for a raise .... it's what most coaches have either done or will do at some point in their careers. Mike Krzyzewski used interest from the Lakers in 2004 to get a raise from Duke.

.... and it obviously wasn't at Tennessee, but Rick Barnes has taken a team to the Final Four : Texas in 2003. They lost to Syracuse.

You’re probably right because Tyndall almost put us in the proverbial doghouse with his antics. Only a couple of holdovers from his team but one of them was Admiral! I wanted to leave myself some wiggle room lol

So what if he entertained going to UCLA. That has been his dream job since he was a kid and idolized those UCLA teams and John Wooden. Besides, What’s wrong with asking for more money for you and especially your staff anyhow? I doubt if there have been much better fits, for a program, than Deacon Barnes is at TENNESSEE.

Weren't Donnie's antics done before he got here? As far as I know he didn't get caught cheating at UT.

He didn’t. But it was pretty embarrassing that we already had a coach leave us for Cal after leading us to the S16 (and the media drama created) then our next coach immediately fired for getting a 10 year show cause. When Barnes took over it was the lowest point in a good while.
