Penn State scandal (merged)

Might not want to go in middle school showers.

Wake up, dude.

It's 2002, and this event occurs that McQueary witnesses, 4 years past Sandusky's "retirement".

Sandusky retires in 1998 at age 55 as a highly touted assistant coach. Seems a little early for voluntary retirement. Seems to me that this has been going on a while and it was decided it best for Sandusky to be "officially" detached from the institution. Yet, the guy is still granted access to the facilities. It's becoming somewhat clear that the event that McQueary witnessed and reported was not a huge surprise as a first time offense.

Furthermore, how bullet proof do you have to feel as an individual to bring a 10-year old child into a public facility on a Friday night? Why didn't he take the kid to his house? Not a big enough rush at home anymore? Need to take it up a notch and start taunting society by fulfilling his dysfunctional needs right in the face of this township and university?

This situation screams of a serial child molester and an institution doing their best to keep it smoke screened.

For the love of God, please read this time. HE SAID A KID WAS "FONDLED" IN THE SHOWER BY SANDUSKY.

Are you honestly acting like Paterno would have had to have been told a kid was ass raped before action would have been required.

Somehow, most of us think that simply saying "A CHILD WAS FONDLED IN THE SHOWER" might be enough for something to be done.
but i'm giving paterno the benefit of the doubt by believing that sandusky could've told him he guy saw it wrong. Who you going to believe? a coach that has been on your staff for a long time or some GA?

So Paterno thought the GA lied about child rape but he was promoted? Sound logic.

yeah that's for sure.
I could throw it into a jet engine. titanium>aluminum :)

lol

ok, just arguing for agument's sake, I'm going to go home and eat dinner and not post it in the What's for Supper thread (sorry Count but it is a HS football potluck dinner. . .)

Maybe because that's not the same thing as saying "Sandusky stole my sandwich from the fridge".

Yea, I'd say there's a great chance of that happening. Paterno thought, "hey, this guy made up a story about one of my friends raping a child; hmmmm, what should I do about that? I know, promote that guy and have him leading our recruiting efforts."

Serious question. Does anyone know how to put someone on ignore via mobile?

my uncle retired as an anesthesiologist at 45.
it's not entirely uncommon.

This was after the was already investigated for child molestation, and likely retired because of it. Should make perfect sense to you now.

Hollywood heavyweights Ashton Kutcher and Alec Baldwin weigh in on the matter (surprise, they sympathize with Paterno):

Oh man, you are reaching. Baldwin clearly stated that this "situation" is sad, and it is. And I seriously doubt that Kutcher is familiar with the details, he's just reacting as a football fan.

OR, it could be they both "sympathize" with Paterno because they weren't raised as poor dumb ignorant backwoods hicks in Tennessee? lol
