Paterno said he was told that Sandusky was "fondling" a kid. Once he admitted that, all excuse making for him should have gone out the window. It's really sad that you're still pretending that "all the facts aren't in." What else could come out that would justify Paterno doing nothing?

Again, you don't have enough details to draw any conclusions. Was child rape just invented... no. Was it a topic of dinner conversation at the Paterno household.... doubt it.

I'd venture to say everything is in play now and a possibility considering the enormity of this scandal.

I imagine all missing children cases from the past 20 years in the area are in question as well... etc...

There are lots of people that just don't want to get involved. Happens quite a bit. Is that part of our problem as a society? Yes. Do I expect it of other people? No.

i took a lot of showers with my coach still in the room. He even took showers also. It's not entirely that odd.

(this was in response to the hypothetical case of knowing that a coworker was raping children in the employee restroom, reporting it to higher-ups, knowing that it died there, and letting it go).

It's very possible that different workplaces have different requirements, but in my Federal job, we go through repeated compliance and ethics training, and one thing we learn is that we have a duty to report illegal/ unethical etc to a superior. If that person does not act on it to our satisfaction, we have a duty to keep on reporting it, higher and higher, until action is taken. We also have the option of reporting to the Compliance Officer, who will know who we are but keep us anonymous upon request.

I don't think it's automatic that telling your boss once is all that's required; not everywhere. :hi:

I have no idea what this post means. Again what could possibly come out that would vindicate Jo Pa once he admits he knew what Sandusky was doing? I'm really curious as to your response.

When learning about this situation from any authority's perspective, if you hear the following words together, you assume the worst and hope for the best -- you DO NOT do NOTHING.

1) Naked man
2) Naked boy
3) Shower

I can recover data off an burned hard drive. I can't recover data off a drive that has been overwritten a bunch of times and floated around in the Susquehanna for several months.

Thats entirely possible. I think its likely since I believe he was murdered. I mean come on, do you take your laptop with you, remove the hard drive and throw it in the river, then commit suicide and make your body disappear? Have serious doubts about that one.

Like I've said, there is a web of conspiracy at play here that goes beyond normal comprehension. The DA was murdered as part of the cover up, whats interesting here is the timing. It could be that the investigation of Sandusky was ongoing, and that the DA was in the process of making a move on the guilty parties. All speculation on my part of course, but its plausible.
