Penn State scandal (merged)

LOL you can go on with this mental masturbation of what does "I wish" means all you like. Nobody knows what is in Paterno's feeble mind, what he knew, or what he believed he was capable of or what he believed he should have done so be my guest.

I believe you answered my question. Thanks

Again, earlier inthis thread, you seemed to indictae that you knew and that Joe Pa would be found to be rather blameless. Remember that?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did you not post earlier that he said that yesterday because he had the full weight of events set in? You did. That would mean he would likely be more emotional now than in 99, since he would understand that a score of kids were hurt, not just one. With all do respect, you are contradicting yourself sir.

HTF am I contradicting myself? Not something I'm famous for.

Yes, I said that. So what. I havent taken on JP's emotional state so I really dont see what your point is since you didnt put my comments in context.

He appears to be fairly remorseful to me. Now, when the kids showed up was he supposed to look whipped and defeated, or put on the face of Joe Paterno that everyone expected. You guys seriously are hitting rock bottom with all these stupid analytics.

You guys are hilarious, you act like Paterno was the Don Corleone of Penn State.

I repeat, some deal was made in 99 to protect Sandusky. The police walked away from the whole thing even though Sandusky had admitted his crimes in a taped conversation to the mother of the victims, the DA dropped the charges then 6 years later went missing (was murdered), so its pretty damned obvious that there is more at play here than Joe Paterno and what he knew or didnt do.

I'm guessing in light of whomever made this deal to cover everything up caused Paterno severe distress, but by that time there was nothing he could do about it or maybe he just could have opted to bring the university he loved and worked at for 50 years to its knees, provided he had the information to act on which is something else NOBODY KNOWS! lol
This post should be inserted in the Merriam Webster under the definition of irony.

At the time the story broke, that was the furthest thing from knowable, according to the reports and the Duke Lacrosse Team was raked across the coals. That is why someone thought the situation was analogous; and that is why my response applied. I will continue to do as I please, Mr. Adult.

So what do you know about strippers, boy?

The Duke Lacrosse team was also crucified in the court of public opinion and the lives of 20 or so students were put on hold or temporarily ruined because of exactly whats going on here with all this Paterno crap.

It was perfect analogy, only an idiot would disagree.

Troll, imo

I dont know what is going to happen, I never said that. Post it in context and I'll be happy to comment. Post it out of context and I probably wont.

If the university had wanted to retire Paterno as football coach, they could have done that. But this silliness about "keeping people quiet about Sandusky" is pretty ridiculous, unless you are putting Paterno at the very center of the cover up. I doubt thats the case, more likely he woke up one morning, realized what happened, and elected to keep his distance praying the whole thing wouldn't resurface. Penn State is taking a big fall, its happening later than sooner. I'm guessing Joe Pa didn't want to be the man responsible for all this. Ironic, I know.
And that sir is the whole argument of everybody in here in a nutshell.

And Joe Pa is just as guilty. Anyone who knew about a child rapist on staff and didn't bother to follow up and make sure the police were investigating is just as guilty. Fk that guy. he just screwed his whole legacy

You know what I'd do if I realized a may have played a role in the rapes of many children, even if unknowingly, and a crowd of kids show up in my yard focusing just on me? I stay in the house.

I wouldn't call it a perfect analogy. There already some facts out there that at the very least Paterno was made aware of very serious allegations against Sandusky once he had to testify to a grand jury and Sandusky still came and went as he pleased on campus up until last week.

I'm still amazed that the story actually broke in April, and no damage control started by Penn State at that point.

Well, that would have been wise. Not acknowledging Paterno believes that, dont know, but it would have been wise to have had a spokesman around.
