Penn State scandal (merged)

I was reading the comments and came across this one, the bold I added:

Yes. If you (darwin and therealut) can activate the part of your brain to defend someone who abets a child raper, therapy might not work. There are a couple of tried and true tactics they are using to sort this thing out:

1) He broke no rules and, therefore, did nothing wrong. 2) Mike McQueary should have done more. 3) Rant against others - media, Bobby Bowden (volnation), the kids themselves, attorneys, and 4) Focus on other aspects of story - Sandusky, et al.

None of these points make Joe Paterno's ineffectual response to a boy getting raped inside of his football facilities any less sickening. And then, to let the predator run amok for nine more years with access to an office inside of your football facility. Something much deeper is going on here and Paterno's vilification is, sadly, deserved.

I guess enablers think the same everywhere.

I cannot and would not defend someone who knowingly abets any rapist. If the facts prove Paterno did this, then he is both legally and morally culpable.

Of course some of the biggest sexual deviants and criminals in history fancied themselves as philosophers.

. . . and the web tangles again.

RT @Ben_Jones88: You think the Sandusky story is mixed up already, just wait til somebody realizes McQueary used to live with Tom Bradley

The onion has begun to be peeled. I won't pretend to know who knew what or when, but I would be surprised if the house isn't completely cleaned out in the athletic department.
