Perry at the top of GOP polls. Why?

He is in now, but im still trying to figure out what makes him the so called "frontrunner" and great as the media seems to be pushing him as?
I don't know that he's the frontrunner, but I think the conventional wisdom is that Romney has the center and there's a little bit of a vacuum that a strong conservative candidate might be able to fill.

I think the GOP establishment ticket might be Perry/Romney as that might be a hard ticket for the Dems to beat.

I think the establishment will take one more hard swing at convincing Christie to get in.

There's plenty of reason to worry that Perry or Palin would govern based on religious dogma rather than pure reason.

For one thing, they say so.

Every single person alive is influenced by some religion, philosophy or something similar that guides their views and decisions. It is absolutely absurd to think otherwise.

I just wish you would come out and say evangelicals freak you out as much as Muslims freak gs out and quit beating around the bush with it.

I personally wish Jindal would run. However, I think he is looking at it way down the road rather than right now.

Just watched Perry announce.

After watching Romney (John Kerry II) vs. the clowns on stage in Iowa, I will tell you guys, he's a shoe in for the nomination.

Better to be a shoe in than an escape goat I guess.

Thoughts on Bobby Jindal? Just wanted to hear people's opinion on him.
I've always liked him, but he's still tainted a little by that disaster of a Republican response that he gave a few years ago where he looked like a complete goober.

Perry is a shoe in as far as his ability to give a speech. He is like W with a much bigger brain. The propaganda machine will attempt to taint him. He hates debates though. He would rather a format like Obama is granted give your speech and answer no questions. I find it very amusing he is considered a radical by some. He is actually more moderate then anyone in the field other then Romney.
