Petrino back to Louisville

They can probably get Petrino on the cheap....maybe $100K and volleyball season tickets.

So Kentucky has always been squeaky clean? Yes Petrino may not be Husband of the year material, but if his scandal has nothing to do with the actual football team why not forgive and forget? If he had broken some recruiting rules that would be different, but what we are talking about is an affair.

Yah. The scandal of sleeping with an assistant's fiance and putting her on the university payroll while he was banging her... That had nothing to do with the football program and university. News flash... If it was just a personal issue, he probably wouldn't have been fired in the first place.

The fact of the matter is that it was a scandal, it should not have happened but it did. But it was a personal matter. Yes she was on the payroll when she should not have been, but as far as coaching goes he is still clean. Coaches have done much worse and hardly get the same amount of flak.

I think that would be a great spot for little Jimmy as well. I sent a text to my Louisville buddy about that yesterday.

Petrino will never be welcomed back in Louisville. He left a dumpster fire on his exit.

Derek Mason is a name to watch for here.

Not entirely true. He and Jurich are still good friends and his daughter is on the UL golf team. Not saying it will happen (would seriously divide the fan base), but it's possible.

I have a buddy close to the program…his name is beginning to circulate with some regularity. Unbelievable, but true.

I had heard rumblings that some at Louisville were interested in Petrino even before Strong left. Should be interesting to see how it plays out.

People seem to either love Petrino or hate him.

Call me crazy, but I don't think Petrino to Louisville is completely out of the question.

I'm afraid I agree.....Guy is a total scum bag, from L'Ville to ATL to Arky, he's left a dumpster fire each place.......But as we all know, winning cures all...Bobby P wins at the NCAA level. I wouldn't want the guy anywhere near any children of mine though.

Got news for you...integrity is not compartmentalized. It spills over from personal to professional life.

Have you not forgotten the yearly flirtations with Auburn? Fleeing to the NFL where he quit mid-season? Evidently WKU has zero confidence in him returning, so they're interviewing Jeff Brohm for his job while Petrino is still in their employ.

Petrino has zero integrity, whether it is in his personal life or professional. I is ludicrous to believe that the two can be compartmentalized. He's changed? Oh, well that's different.

There are plenty of good choices out there they could get. Back up the brinks truck and get Franklin from Vandy. Chad Morris at Clemson is one of the hottest coordinators our there. Sad to see them go back to Petrino on their knees. I thought Jurich was better than that.

Wow.

I don't see how U of L brings him back, given the way he left. Amazing.

Louisville with a serious case of Battered Wife Syndrome.

He's a really good guy, we swear! He just had to get a few things sorted out, he's better this time! Honest!

. . . and, as I just posted somewhere else, they'll act surprised when he inevitably does it again. Just goes to show how little fans care about the integrity of a school and how great the pressure to win is on Athletic Departments.

Obviously the University of Louisville does not have a "Do not rehire" checkbox on employee files.

It is endemic and systemic at UL. Don't forget Pitino's tabletop adultery at Porcini's, 15 seconds, and dribbling down his leg.
