Peyton Manning is done in Indy

except you're underestimating just how crazy about him those fans are right now

I don't think Elway (and/or the FO) are too keen on him but he knows there'll be h-ll to pay if he were to try to replace him at the current moment

I live out here in Colorado and I really don't think the fan base would go into an uproar. Tebow is loved for his heart and will to win, but "most" everyone here is realistic about his throwing abilities. The love for Tebow is more representative of a city that LOVES football and will fully support anyone that leads the Broncos to wins...and Tebow was doing that, like the Messiah. Can you imagine what adding Peyton Manning would do? It would be like the Father and the Son on the same team!!

John Elway is obviously a QBs best friend...and I do believe that he would allow PM to run the show on the field, however, I wonder how well they'd mesh off the field...two strong dominant football egos. Hmmmm...

Being a UT alumnus...I would love to see Peyton Manning in Denver!!

BUT....49ers seem like the best fit for a team and for Peytons last few years. IMO...he's gonna go somewhere that has two things....strong offensive line and a solid defense. A team won't pick him....he'll pick a team.

Peyton in New York would be a lot of money in the bank without even considering the contract he gets for playing and would be a chance for him to win it all immediately.

I just cut the Colts from my team list. I knew they probably wouldn't pay the 28 mil, but I figured they would restructure a deal given Manning's situation that would keep him as their QB and let him tutor Luck for 2-3 years.

I agree that they just lost a ton of fans by this. Won't be the same seeing him with another team. Will be like when Montana played with the Chiefs, just won't be the same.

Nah, he's not gonna tudor his replacement!! Besides, Irsey gave him 28 million for not playing last year so he's appreciative of Manning.

Sorry, though I prefer he quarterback the Titans, he's headed to Denver so they can move Tebow to FB and have a real QB under center. Trust the word of one who knows.

Back to the Double Wing in a new Double option play set. It is going to be a new standard soon. Any NFL team with the BRASS to try it will see a great 3rd down conversion %. Defenses will look like they are running a Chinese Fire Drill trying to cover Corner and the Slot.

I like the gimmicky names. Maybe they could call the new variation of the Double Wing, the Double Buck. The FB Wild Cat, well that would just be Buck Wild. :)

Can you imagine what the Jets locker room and then the Jets fan base would be like if they go after Peyton and DO NOT sign him?

Guy from tales of the crypt (John Clayton) just reported that the jets aren't an option, and that the Seahawks are very serious about getting Peyton and Reggie Wayne.

Is he being cut today ? Seems to be the conjecture.

Did you know that Peyton Manning has throw for more yards in the NFL than all Florida quarterbacks of all-time combined? Take all gator quarterbacks, go back 100 years, add them all together, and they don't add up to the number of yards that Peyton has. Truly amazing!

Yes, he had a great pro career.

College? Meh, not bad. Never beat UF, though.

Did you know that ?

He averaged over 300 yards a game against them. Unfortunately, our defense couldn't stop Florida's offense.

Guess you guys didn't realize football is a team sport.

All Peyton needs is something he has rarely had in his career, a decent defense.
Score 35 and lose, not the offenses fault.

Team sport.

I root for the Gators. I pay attention to individual players, sure. But I am a fan of one team.

And I don't cling to a player after he leaves my team. Tebow? Interesting story tome, see what he does next. But I don't go around claiming the Gators are good, bad, or ugly based on what he does in the pros. Same with Emmit Smith.

IMO, if you are stuck valuing the team you ACTUALLY consider yourself a fan of because what a player does once he leaves, that's just nonsense.

I can see him going to the Dolphins. They have one of the biggest OLines in the NFL. If he brings Wayne with him the Dolphins would be loaded on O. Not sure how their Defense is. I kind of want him to go to Kansas City. I'm not a huge NFL fan, so I'd like to see Peyton and Berry on the same team. My two favorite Vols.

Yeah, because success in recruiting has zero tie ins to how a former college player of a university does at the next level.

This^ it's why every black QB in the world wants to come play at Virginia Tech because they feel they are the next Vick and I mean the one that was actually good.

It's hard to see him end his run in Indy. He did alot for that city and that's not a fitting send off for him. Hoping to see him eventually end up in some role in Knoxville. Good luck to you Peyton.

I am now officially no longer a Colts fan. He was the only reason I became a fan of the Colts. I now have no reason to watch them anymore. I wish the Colts well, but I won't go out of my way to watch them on TV anymore.

I will, however, still follow Peyton closely. Not just because he is a UT grad, but because of the man and player he is. I can't think of a player of his caliber that has the integrity he does.
