Peytons supporting cast

it really wasn't but whatever :good!:

no one is claiming he played a good game. You can't expect a QB like PM to excel when his OL was allowing a rush like that and his WR didn't seem to want to get open, hold the ball or even get a 1st down. Add in the D bouncing off tackles, crazy snaps and the return game putting them in a hole last night (both sides) and it's a recipe for disaster against a team like Seattle

I like to think of lasts night game as playing the computer on XBOX or PS3...you know you picked a great and powerful team but regardless of what you do the computer has it our for you from the opening kick off. It makes you want to hit the reset button from all of the endless BULLS#!T that happens. From the opening snap...it was going to be that way...it was just meant to be.

And I don't think if they played again....the results would be any where near the same.

I agree with your overall point here, but Peyton was absolutely terrible tonight and he had one of those games where he just absolutely choked.

Terrible and choked? He didn't play well but that was a team effort loss if I've ever seen one.

Choked might have been a poor word choice, but he definitely had a "deer in headlights" look about him most of the night. A lot of that had to do with the excellent defensive performance from Seattle and some had to do with his receivers playing like garbage, but Peyton did seem lost and not himself last night.

The Seattle D had him frustrated. You could see it on is face all night

Denver gets the kickoff runs one play and hikes it into the endzone and they are down 2-0 and then they kick it off to Seattle and they score again to go up 5-0....then Denver goes three and out and Seattle drives down to go up 8-0 and frankly they could have been up 16-0.....at that point the game plan has to be changed and you are playing into Seattle's hands and that's what happens....the real problem was that Denver's defense only forced one punt all game and the Denver OL could not hold up under pressure...The first qtr was the ballgame.....no way Denver was coming back against that defense when their own defense was so bad...

id say those wr's made him look good they took those little weak dink and donk passes for TD's all yr and that just wasnt gonna happen against that defense

This well said and very fair. You can't look at what the Broncos and Peyton accomplished over the season and throughout the playoffs and all of a sudden say Peyton doesn't have a good supporting cast because they were manhandled by the Seahawks last night.

The Broncos were a very good team that were thoroughly beaten by the best team in the league last night. It was an embarrassing loss that sometimes happens. It's football. Every Broncos player contributed to their 15 wins this year...and every player contributed to that disaster last night, including my all time favorite player Peyton Manning.

i agree 100%

that reshuffled OL had played really well - losing clady and 2 centers is a big deal and Seattle was a team with a good enough DL to be able to expose that weakness - but they played very well against several really high caliber opponents

Seattle's D was just great last night

I agree - I also was surprised that early (as in 1st half) Foxy didnt try for an onside kick - just something to change the momentum and try and steal a possession

i don't usually like those types of things but huge risks like that have paid off in SB's before and I have never seen a situation where a team more obviously needed something positive to happen to get some type of momentum

You're an idiot. Probably threw 10-12 "dink and donk" passes/WR screens that went for tds this year. The other 43-45 were anything but. Keep bringing the "I'm jealous cause Florida has never had a remotely successful nfl QB" butthurt coming though chief.

if they played that game 10 times, seattle would win all 10. the broncos were inferior in every facet of the game. that was a team effort to get dominated that bad. peyton played bad, the o-line got dominated, the WR weren't open when the OL held up, the defense didn't get a stop, special teams gave up a TD. it was just pitiful. reflective of the discrepancy between the AFC and NFC right now.

Its insane to say he has never had a good supporting cast. Id say the supporting cast got him his only super bowl win. He didnt play all that well in that Super Bowl win he had.

Its ok to say he had a bad game. However, His oline couldnt stop a simple 4/5 man rush, and #88 was scared.

10-12 all yr? ok lol and yea im real mad

if you cant see peyton's arm has gotten weak as hell and he had to change his game i dont know what to tell you he's mastered it tho thru the regular season it just dont work against a defense that can tackle

i agree with this, which just validates the crazy idea that football is a team sport. tom brady's 3 rings came from probably his worst 3 seasons in his career. he had a great team around him and all he had to do was not mess up. he didn't have to put the team on his back. peyton's super bowl run was the only time his defense played like a championship defense and they won the super bowl. and peyton's supporting cast will always be held against him because he is going to make them good no matter who they are.

How about his first interception? Explain that one.

I'm not what could be called a utvolpj fan, but he's right. It's all OK, to be a Volgod woshipper but the excuse hunting and finger pointing is absurd. Pure and simple the Broncos were collectively bent over the back of a bench and had their moons drilled asteroid impact style. They probably left wondering what happened. Well the answer is they were meteor striked.
