Peytons supporting cast

For people blaming the defense, the broncos did not get a first down until 10 minutes left in the second quarter.

Offense did not score until the last play of the third quarter.

Defense was on the bench for 16 points that were allowed.

It was a team loss, but the Denver defense was a hell of a lot better than the Denver offense

The Denver team did not play well in part because Seattle is better.

Having said all that, Peyton played like crap too.

Disagree. First one was bad, he panicked and made a bad throw because of the rush at his feet.

He second was on him as well. Had pressure in his face coming from his right side. He didn't have time to throw it, yet he threw it anyway. He's a rhythm, timing thrower. He's made a bazillion throws and I'd be willing to bet he knew he didn't have time, yet he threw it anyway. The result was an ill-advised throw that popped straight up into the air that has picked and returned for a td.

Look, I love Peyton Manning. I'm one of his greatest fans. Been following him and defending him since his freshman year at UT. He was in no way the sole reason for this loss. The entire team was absolutely awful. But he was bad as well and I've seen it over and over and over through the years. He typically plays poorly in the biggest games. I've learned to live with it, but I'm just gonna call it what it is.

so it's his fault he got hit while throwing. Good grief the need to finger point around here is amazing

2 interceptions a fumble and a passer rating of 73.5. Not Manning's best showing.

A fumble? You are going to blame him for getting his arm hit while Seattle was rushing 4? Give me a break. That is asinine.

Seattle was in a cover 2 zone all night except for a hand full of plays. They were also getting pressure while in the cover 2 with their 4 dlineman.

If anybody wants to blame anybody it should be the oline for absolutely getting their lunch ate.

The Seahawks roster is full of free agent and players drafted in the 4th, 5th, and 6th rounds, buck and aikeman redundantly reported that fact.

It's his fault for not tucking the ball and throwing an ill-advised pass. His OL was awful, he didn't have time. He also didn't have to throw the ball with a DE applying so much pressure that he could barely complete half his throwing motion. Avril was right in his face and cleat going to alter the throw if Peyton didn't move, which he didn't. It was ill-advised IMO and it wound up costing him 6 points the other way.

It's not finger pointing. Peyton contributed to the loss last night with a couple throws last night. That's all I'm saying. It was a total team loss and Peyton shouldn't get a pass just because he's a beloved Vol.

I agree with your overall point here, but Peyton was absolutely terrible tonight and he had one of those games where he just absolutely choked.

he had super bowl record 34 completions and was hit almost every throw with no support at all.. 27 rushing yards.. wtf dude.. he was hit on his 2nd pick and Thomas held on the other..
stupid

No.

The O-line choked all night long. The WR's had trouble getting separation. PM could have taken sacks, instead he tried to make plays while getting hit, which caused interceptions. Add in no run game. Add in bad special teams play. Add in mediocre at best defense. Which is understandable with 5 guys out. Add in some of the worst coaching decisions and scheme design in SB history.

We will never know if PM had what it took because the team took that ability away from him.

If you are not a mobile quarterback, you can't compete against Seattle's defense.Their game plan was to put Peyton on the move and disrupt his rhythm...they did.
The wideouts were trying to avoid concussions all night...Welker did succeed and came out of the game in one piece. Hell, the 'Hawks were knocking each other out and the Broncos went back to each huddle with that in mind.
All the Broncos get to go to heaven, because they got the hell beat outta them.

The disaster began with the first snap from scrimmage, that wasn't Peyton's fault. :ermm:

I think if Peyton played a great game last night the Broncos still probably lose.

The Seahawks won every facet of the game and the Broncos did not have an answer. Their D is for real and Peyton had very little time to find open receivers.

He certainly did not play up to par, but this loss was not totally his fault. The Broncos drove the ball well except for the first 1.5 quarters, but couldn't finish.

For the Broncos to have won that game, Manning would have had to play the game of his career. They were outmatched EVERYWHERE.

But, the real reason they lost is the orange jerseys. The Broncos have never won with orange jerseys in the SB Therefore, I blame Goodell. :)

His Oline has been bad all year. The offense cost them the game, plain and simple. All those on here blaming the O line for the lose would not be giving them credit had they won. As a Colts fan I wanted Peyton to win, but I am not surprised he had this kind of performance. His legacy is tarnished with this lose.

I really enjoy watching a game that I don't really care who wins

I was with a bunch of "Bronco" fans last night and I laughed hysterically at that kick return

Kinda strange you could care less after all PM was a Vol and supports them. Just saying. I pull for the Titans but do not pull against any former Vols especially who stay true to the school.

the broncos could have all of their injured players back and still lose the game.and they need to load up on defense during the draft so they can make another run at it next year.with their players back from injury and a good draft denver should be one of the two best teams in the afc.

His supporting cast didn't have 3 turnovers, he did. All 3 were on him and other throws could have been picked. He could have topped off the greatest season EVER for a QB. This stinks.

Most of his stats were in garbage time. That offense looked lost in the first 3 quarters and it started with him.

You need to have your eyes checked. Peyton was hit in the arm as he was throwing on the second interception and the ball was stripped from his blind side on the fumble. Why don't you get out there against that Seattle defense and see what you can do, suck-King.

his supporting cast on offense is really good and he is really good - neither were yesterday - its football, it happens - its why it is so hard to judge great players by SB wins

easy in the NBA - you get a best of 7 so you can have an off night and come back and you affect the game on O, D, and in transition - just can't in football - what makes it great but also what makes it random

and i don't mean random that the Seahawks won b/c they are an excellent team - just random in the way the game happened
