I understand your concern given that it often takes a while before our transfers do well. Most have been recovering from injuries, which is not the case for Wells. I do think we probably got over-excited when Powell joined our team as she did not have a history of being near the shooter (3- and 2- point shooter) that Wells has. She is a fantastic shooter from all over the court and has been consistent with this all three years for both the regular and post seasons. I think that Powell's role next year may be to become our assist leader with Wells in some ways being more like a shooting guard that can also function as a point guard. I do think that main addition that is still needed is a taller guard/wing player that is great on defense and at least sufficient offense. I tend to love smaller guards but we will really miss Jordan's length on defense, especially when we play teams with taller guards. All in all, this is a great get early in the transfer season. Funny how some (but not you) have somehow turned this great news into how horrible it is for the Lady Vols.

Now that you put it that way, I feel a little better, especially the injury angle. Iā€™m confident Wells can keep her magic going next season!

Iā€™m interested to see who else we get to replace Jordan. Iā€™m hoping tor Donarski, mainly because of her defense and basketball IQ. I agree, we definitely need another guard, itā€™ll be great if Wynn could take that magical leap for us!

Here we go again, Powell will not be an assist leader. Do u remember all the times she had open finishers on the break and ended up forcing a shot up that missed or was blocked? She just doesnā€™t see the floor well and doesnā€™t make good decisions. If u donā€™t believe me go back and watch the games.

Iā€™m just tired of everyone thinking certain players will get it done, Iā€™ve seen enough of them to know what they will bring, at this point itā€™s Rickea and everyone else, we need 2 more elite guards to be able to compete.

She definitely went through a mental block for several games in which was true but still managed to have a pretty good assist to turnover ratio. She also was very good in that regards at Minnesota, which is a conference loaded with good guard play.

Nobody is saying the offer should be pulled, I will say I havenā€™t really watched her much. But watching Amoore u can tell sheā€™s a big time shooter no matter what. Iā€™m not gonna say what I wanted to but I wish Wells the best, hopefully she can turn into a first team all American.

Wynn has the tools but who knows if she can put it together. We definitely need 2 more guards.

You're getting a head start on having a really long, miserable season. I get you have zero confidence in Key, but she's going to play alot if her health permits. You can book that. Also you're disregarding Jill, whose scoring presence at 4 will be huge for us. Now we have a PG who's a scorer, and just to make you feel worse, Powell is coming back. I think you're selling her potential short as well. She actually had a very nice a/t.o. ratio and was very good feeding Rickea when she posted up. Powell will provide an important bridge to Wells, who's obviously the PG of the future. One more tall quick scoring guard and we are set. Sorry it's going to be a slog for you.

Iā€™m just so upset about this season and Iā€™ve noticed the flaws that some people donā€™t seem to remember. But youā€™re right Jill can get it done, but I noticed she forces shots up all the time when double teamed and rarely ever passes the ball back out once she gets it, that has to change. Powell I have no faith in when it comes to big games against elite competition at all, as for Key sheā€™s a backup in my opinion but if we donā€™t find anyone better then she has to start. Iā€™m not trying to be negative but Iā€™ve seen enough to know what they bring, Players like Pissott and Wynn might get better over the summer and thatā€™s what Iā€™m hoping as well.

Wynn is fast, so she has that going for her. But, the offensive skills are rough.

100% speculation, but thinking that Miles might be one to transfer out for more playing time. Hard to say

Key is no way a backup, that is crazy. Damn, she is so important on defense, controls and changes most shots in the paint, difference maker to be sure, weird you would relegate such a player to the bench. You forget her first two seasonsā€¦.elite shot blocker (one of best in the country) and alters almost every shot in the post.

Having said that, if UT could snag the big girl from BC in the portal, she would back up Key in a great way, and if playing with Key at same time it makes for an imposing 4-5 combo that brings defense and offenseā€¦.that girl from BC is known as a defensive great but she scores also.

Last year we were 18-1 with Rae out injured and without Rickea. Have to think that Key played a major role in our defense that we lacked this season.
