Thus far, Jones has amounted to little more than a better recruiting version of Dooley.

So how about we give CBJ 3 years like Dooley then start comparing results. Recruting wise though to say CBJ is a little better than Dooleu is laughable. Have you seen our class of 15' yet? My goodness.

I think many got off the Dooley train mid way through his sophomore season. Just saying.

Vandy game in 2011. That's the game i knew we had a dud of a coach. He did about everything in his power to lose that game. We won despite Dooley. Then last year Mizzou. Another Dooley coaching jem. Not so lucky that time.

Agree 100%. I'll always believe that Dooley was trying his damndest to get fired, he flat out quit.

That Mizzou game last year was absolutely the final nail for me!

Butch Jones is not Derek Dooley. Goodness people, chill out. Yes, we didn't play well yesterday, but USA was a game sandwiched in between Oregon and Florida, and then UGA, South Carolina, Bama, etc. It's natural, or at least understandable, if we didn't play our best yesterday... But We won the game, and now we get prepared for a brutal october. We probably won't win those games, just so you guys are well prepared...So far we've won the games we should, and lost the games that would've been upsets... Why is everyone freaking out so much? What did you expect to be different?

We played horrible not only during this last game but also vs Oregon and UF. That's why everyone is freaking out - there is a pattern of underperformance, under preparation, and overall bad coaching emerging way too early with this new staff. It's ok to lose to Oregon and maybe even UF (even though Gators desperately tried to give us that game but we would still not take it) - so it's less about the scores and more about how bad we looked during those loses (worse than during any loses last year with the exception of Vandy when players and coaches seemed to quit fighting).

You obviously didn't see us give up almost 700 yards of offense to Akron, or how we grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory vs. Mizzou. We are so much improved vs last years team it's really no comparison. Remember last years offense has 3 of its 11 starters playing in the NFL and 2 of them were picked ib the first. 2 rounds. You won't see that off this years team.

So far we are not improved at all - defense is as bad as last year (did not think that was actually possible to repeat), and the offense is the worst I have seen since I started following UT football (30 years). Also, those guys you are talking about who are in the NFL (as high draft picks) are there because we had a great offensive staff that recruited them and coached them (under Dooley who you despise - that staff under Chaney did not spend their time on stupid spread gimmicks but ran the actual pro style offense).

We don't know what happened and what caused it but he clearly lost his composure. He should be a stable source of leadership and poise on this team... not looking like Bam Bam Bigelow.

He was yelling at Worley and was restrained and then continued acting the fool and had Gillespie in his face at the end of the game.

Somebody needs a topic of how many idiots can post stupid crAp

Bad coaching with this new staff? Hilarious. Please, at your best, describe the "bad coaching". BTW, it's losses, not loses.

Man i have to disagree our defense is way better this year! With a better attitude to boot. We just don't have an offense that can put up 50 points a game like we had last year.

Bad coaching is when you let below average (even backup) QB's shred you on third (or even fourth) and long over and over again - means your defense is not organized and not prepared. Bad coaching is also when you QB is sucking and you stubbornly refuse to replace him (unless he breaks his arm). Bad coaching is not going for it on 4th and short multiple time vs Oregon when they are easily scoring every time they have the ball (regardless where they start their offense). Bad coaching is when you have talented offensive lineman who will probably star in NFL within next few years and you don't design plays to emphasize their strengths (ie running traditional pro style offense instead of spread garbage). Etc - the list goes on and on ....
