Pig Howard tweet

Bad coaching is when you let below average (even backup) QB's shred you on third (or even fourth) and long over and over again - means your defense is not organized and not prepared. Bad coaching is also when you QB is sucking and you stubbornly refuse to replace him (unless he breaks his arm). Bad coaching is not going for it on 4th and short multiple time vs Oregon when they are easily scoring every time they have the ball (regardless where they start their offense). Bad coaching is when you have talented offensive lineman who will probably star in NFL within next few years and you don't design plays to emphasize their strengths (ie running traditional pro style offense instead of spread garbage). Etc - the list goes on and on ....

However i can agree with there being some bad decision making so far.

Or maybe good coaching still can't overcome youth, inexperience and 3 years of bad coaching. Saban himself would struggle with the lack of experience we have on this team. Case in point his first season when he Went 7-6 his first year at bama when the sec was weaker and the coach before him was arguably better than dools and came into a better situation. As far as running a system that isn't perfect for the current players, why run an offensive scheme with an offensive line who will all be gone after one year then have to retrain the younger guys for the scheme you prefer in year two? He knows that this is not a patient fanbase, he knows that he has to establish his system and get it clicking by year three. So why try to custom cater for the short term? He's taking his lumps year one which was expected but he's establishing his system. When he gets his guys in here then we can judge him. But the overall discipline change in this team is obvious.

Rather than calling him a drunk why don't you offer some sort of rebuttal?

Ok. I don't call it bad coaching. I call it A coach who is trying to get his team to learn his system, and his way of doing things. Not to mention that I think he knows a little more about the team and coaching then we do. Every coach makes decisions during the game, and when they work, it makes him look great, but when they don't work. He is a "bad coach" I'm sorry, but I see too much improvement in this team from last year already to call CBJ a bad coach. Even if it's little things, there is improvement.

To much name calling and lack of respect for others opinion on here gets under my skin sometimes. No reason for personal insults mo matter how stupid one feels the opinion is. JMO

I believe that commenting on things that you have no clue about deserves the wrath of anyone who wishes to chime in. Who are our bright spots? True freshmen, for the most part...our upperclassmen are still learning there is a second half after halftime, something DD never prepared them for. It is going to take time.

Thank you, but I don't see any name calling. Just said he needed to put the alcohol down. All of the dumba$$es on here is what gets under my skin though.

There is a multitude of factors in play here. He was obviously left with very little talent and he probably isnt utilizing what few strengths he has on the team. Nobody would be doing well with this team. By comparison, lets look at Alabama, they go into College Station with arguably the best defense in football and give up 42 points to A&M, while we go to Eugene against probably the most prolific offense in football with a totally depleted and young defense and give up 59. They werent calling for Saban's head were they???? It takes time to fix things and we just arent there talent wise to be able to do anything this year.

So it's obvious that this thread has gone down a completely different path from where it started and I'm not about to read through over 275 posts to figure it out. What exactly did Pig's tweet mean?

Nothing. Back on page 3 (I think), someone posted another tweet he made that said, "who said anything about quitting? #dontassume "

Pig is gonna be fine. Not worried about him in the least.

I hope he meant he was done stopping short on his routes. :)

Nah, I agree that he'll be fine.

Agree x100. And I'm not singling anyone out in this thread. Just speaking in general.

What r u talking about??? Were u to busy in the Gruden circle-jerk Forum to notice all the close games we had last year. 2011 Vols may have had this issue but the 2012 team was progressing here. Remember the uscjr or mizzou games. Heck even the troy game. These upperclassmen, especially the OL, know how to go 4qtrs.

Don't forget Dooley's '10 Vols took LSU to the wire in BR. So acting like he didn't have the ability to coach a team 4qtrs is just ignorant.

(I know I know Vandy game from last year but that one had negative factors in it due to him about to get fired. And bray pretty much said he threw that game to nail in the final nail)
