Pig Howard?

I saw him at the Orange and white game he was sitting 2-3 rows in front of me, saw him cheering and getting excited during some of the big plays. It's unfortunate he wasn't out there. But he is still a vol, and in my opinion good too see him cheering on the team.

Would like to see Pig get back into the football program. Experience can help the team out when the pressure is on in game type situations.:salute:

Does anybody know exactly whats going on with him?

Pig wants to be out there, and has been trying to get back out there but there are deeper issues keeping him away.

There's a reason most "experts" are saying not to expect him back. If he can work his way back, he will. But he has a lot of climbing to do

Wait... I thought you were the Florida insider.

Meh. Pig was a good player but I think VP and DY will hold down the slot position just fine. There are a LOT of positions right now where we can't afford to lose a player, but receiver is not one of them.

Agree with you Chatta. Wish him well but the Pig ship has sailed. We can absorb his loss fairly well with the addition of a bigger, much more talented player in Pearson. Then if Josh Smith gets his dropsies issues resolved (Azzani has said he's had a very good Spring) and adds some depth, and with Jonathan Johnson in the mix.....we'll be just fine at slot barring injuries.

I'm sure we will read about his decision to go pro early after this upcoming season. And no one will draft him in the NFL but he may get a FA shot. That trip will last about half way through the preseason when they team have to start cutting down players.

Calls out there for Pig being branded another Vol for Life?

Not pretending I know his situation but the track records of many just like him are well documented. If he was in trouble or in jail, we would know. If he flunked out, we would know it. Doesn't leave much else. ...

I'll play the cards I have with the Pig.

I believe he will be back ... doesnt sound like a legal issue or a grades issue. I think Butch is going to let him sit and think about the decisions he has made and if Pig follows his guidelines he will be back.

I don't know if weed is his problem, but a lot of guys struggle to quit the habit even when they know that one more toke will ruin their college careers. No smarts, no discipline. We've had more than a few--all programs have--including the fairly talented RB from maybe 8 years ago who was warned and suspended still wouldn't quit. He got the boot.

You cant say many just like him when each individual is their own person and has their own successes and own struggles. Thats called stereotyping. It could be a family problem for all we know. Maybe it is a rehab- type situation, but its not mine or your place to make assumptions about someone's personal life that you dont know from Adam.

He was in a lot of the clips they showed at the O&W game. Kinda odd I thought.

If you show Highlights from last year's offense, he'll have to be in some of them. #1 in catches... #2 in Yardage....

How do you know that he is not receiving any "help"... or that he even needs any? Maybe our flavor orange just isn't in his color wheel.

It's been hinted at by Wes Rucker and others that just bc he acts like he wants to come back doesn't mean he is actually doing what needs to be done to come back. Hope the kid returns. We need as many playmakers as we can get.
