Pig Howard?

I don't get it. Just because he posted a pic of a UT football?

Context clues, bro. 2 days ago he was obviously on the field with his gloves and a football and was excited enough to post a picture about it on Instagram stating that he was having to work OVERTIME.

Seems to me like he thinks he's going to see the field again.

He's a Volunteer for Life and deserves our support at the very least.

Please post your VFL scoring criteria. A couple good games and now an off season "issue" doesn't qualify him as a VFL in my criteria. More like just another kid who couldn't handle college life. That doesn't make him a VFL.

Please post your criteria for not being able to "handle college life". It appears you're the only one that knows what he's done.

For those saying we don't need him because he wasn't going to start over VP and/or because we have so many good new receivers coming in........ always remember injuries can and do happen. Also, sometimes a new player takes time to develop (even the ones who fans crown as the next all-american prior to them getting on campus or playing a real game).

Depth is a dire need in the SEC. Experienced depth is very, very valuable.

Some even say "he is a good player but we don't need him because....". We need good players!! Granted we need great players, but we need good players behind them...... it is a must.

If you played for this university and rep the T unconditionally, your a VFL. It Means u bleed orange at your heart. This young man bleeds orange at his heart, that's all we know. Other details are for him and coach to know.

pretty clear hes in the complex doing something football related. hoping for the best. Add him to this WR corp and it gets downright terrifying for Defenses. not enough defenders to cover em all.

Thank you. He did nothing that we know of to disgrace the university. He is a VFL.

Of the field too?

If any of you knew what most the players did off the field, smh. Ha. Some get caught some don't. If you were once a college student I am sure you did some things you shake your head about. I still don't know what's going on with pig, I think most assume more than know. The team is movin forward and so should this fan base. If your not helping the situation just take a step back.

Just depends on what act he is responsible for I think, if he should be considered a VOL for life or not. Personally, I know its widely accepted that college kids party, But Im a senior engineering student at UT and dont do drugs or none of that stuff. I don't understand why they should get a bye and be recognized as football heroes while being experimental drug users or worse when no one else can (not claiming that he is guilty of this at all, just considering it a possibilty). If its grades he needs to get help, and he should be more than capable to turn that around and be considered a VFL. If its something else, sounds like to me Butch doesnt want to disclose anything until its completely official. Personally, although Im curious, I like when they keep these things on the DL.

That's dumb logic. We all like to poke fun at ol Jim Bob but at the same time I doubt there are many here that don't consider him a VFL. Without stats at all he still contributed to the program. Pig has done more than enough for me to consider him a VFL...

Not sure why you're hating on the guy who's actually at practice working with the team. Pig just was never impressive to me. I do hope he comes back though, more depth is always better.

VFL status is given, not earned, imo. And it isn't posters on a message board that have it to offer our current and former players.

agreed.

Additionally, I find it hard to classify myself as a "VFL" considering I never went to UT.

Pig came an a$$ hair and 1 instant replay away from winning the Georgia game for us.

You just named one play in which he "almost" won us a game. Like I said, Pig has never impressed. Not saying he's had a great opportunity to, but he still hasn't. Never saw the "burst" people always talked about. Seemed slow, short, and had bad hands. JMO. I would still like to see him back, but if not then I don't think it's a big deal.

Lol. He and North are the best playmakers on the team right now. We haven't played one game with the new additions and they all can be bust. He had several plays against UGA. He's the one who kept us in the game. It's almost fair to say it was the only game last year when our Qb could throw the dang ball.

Yeah, because Pearson really killed it at the spring game...oh wait.

Are you really gonna argue that Pig Howard is/would be a better WR for UT this year than Von Pearson? If you are, then you can have it. I'm willing to bet VP gives us more than 390yds and a couple tds or so this year. Maybe I'm in the minority on this.
