Pittsburgh Steelers Thread

bottom line, you got two teams that will want to do basically the same thing to each other.

should be fun.

Collins hasn't played a D as good as ours yet. you put collins in a position where he has to throw and i'll take Harrison and Woodley on the front and Polamolu and Clark on the back end all day long.

for us, we're going ot have to take advantage of the middle of that defense with a running game. cause likewise, if Ben is forced to put it up 25+ times.......uh, have you seen how many times he's been sacked this year? it's effing disgusting.

I would put Baltimore's defense on par with yours.

I will be traveling back to Nashville for the Holidays and this was my present was a ticket to watch my boys play the Titans. I have been to 2 games in Nashville and neither ended up good for the Black and Gold. Game 1 they carted Tommy gun off in a Gurny and Game 2 was the acting Job by there kicker in the playoffs when the fireworks went off 3 times. I really hope we win this even though that means i wouldnt get a chance to go to the AFC championship game in Nashville. Here we go Steeleres here we go.

I would too, that defense is nasty.
oh, don't get me wrong......they're very good.

i'll put it this way as to how close Balt and Pit are to each other........in two games thiis year, one went to OT and was decided by a FG. in the other it was a reviewed play at the goal line where it was determined the nose of hte football "touched" the plane of the endzone.

it doesn't get any closer than that, and don't think for one second i don't consider those two wins as "fortunate".

This game will certainly be tough for both. Any word on Haynesworth yet?

as much as i want to win this game and get home field, the great thing abou the next two weeks is there's no pressure.......i wonder how they'll play knowing that?

i think, and this is just me, we're going to find out just what kind of coach Tomlin is.

he's in the cat bird seat, it's on his racket......how does he handle it?

Go Steelers!

I heard about Haynesworth. If it is a sprained MCL you can bet he will be nowhere near 100% for at least another month or two, and that is with total rest. He will give it all he's got when it matters in the playoffs. What pisses me off about his injury is that it happened while he was being held by an O-lineman (the guy had his hand around his back and practically pulled his jersey over his head) and no penalty was called.

You can bet the league sent the refs tape and a critique on that missed call.

saw fisher on espn last night......said he's had this before........should be two weeks, get the bye and he should be set for the divisional round.

I've had to battle through this injury before. It will take him at least a month before he is 80%.

all i'm doing is relaying what fisher said........and he said he'd be set for the playoffs.

i'm sure the titans have an excellent rehab and training staff that will make getting him priority #1. and that's all AH will do between now and then.........work on getting that healthy enough to play.

i'll be shocked if he isn't starting in the 1st playoff game.

I dont know if Haynesworth will be 100% by the time the playoff game comes around. I agree with jake though if there is any possible way to do it he will play in that game.

while i'm on my vent about Mike Turgovack for the Panthers, i'd figure i'd moan and groan about Bruce Ariens for the Steelers.

at what point does the OC take control of the offense, moreover his O line and qb, and tell them to quit being stupid?

i mean, really........when is someone going to tell Ben THROW IT AWAY!

Ben, you don't have 10 seconds per play to decide who you want to throw to. and if you do hold it that long, at least have the common decency to hold on to the damn thing.

the steelers play defense and they run the ball and take chances down field when opportunity presents itself. anything outside that, you throw it in to the cheap seats, got it?

Ariens has no control over this, and there's been zero improvement.

play like that and it will be a quick exit from the playoffs.

putrid day on the offensive side of the ball.

but, in the end, we didn't lose anything...came in #2, left #2.

just a really, really bad taste left over.

based on how he was hopping around in excitement today, i'd say he's ahead of schedule and should be fine in 3 weeks.

Well, it looks like both the steelers and espn have decided to play up the towel stomp for the next few weeks...

quick question though, the whole "see what happened last time with the bengals," was that the game where they hurt carson palmer and then the bengals fell apart after that?

yes.

they bye was huge for us. need to get a few guys healthy and rested. a rematch with the chargers should be interesting. Rivers is a gamer, but he'll be facing a much better Defense than he did on Saturday.

my wife may go up this weekend.....her dad has club tickets for the game.

and we have an outside shot at getting super bowl tickets should the steelers win out.....keep your fingers crossed!!!!
