Player Reactions Thread

If anybody ever questioned the success that Dooley had at UT, all they need to do is read this thread. Coaching is much more than playing the game; it is about turning boys into men.

True post. Although both sides argue good points, it is clear by these posts that CDD was well-liked by his team and was trying hard to build the right way. I do not challenge the man's effort. I wish him well and pray for healing.

After reading that comment, I bet you hate a lot of things. I bet you hate more than you like. Life is going to slap you in the face one day and wake you up.

No one likes to lose, but everyone does at some point in life and he was just expessing it is how you deal with it that is important, not that he accepted losing.

I would not by a ar from that dude.

My feelings for a lot of the players this year have been at best pity, at worse contempt but I keep it to myself and never pubicly bash anyone willing to strap on a helmet with a power T on it.

Well... hunter and cp are gone fore sure now and more than likely james too.

Pretty sure both had already made that decision. JH has certainly acted like it the last few games. It was rather disgusting actually to watch him last night on the first series of the 2nd half. 3rd and 4, and he catches the ball 2 yards short of the first down. Rather than challenge the defender for the extra yardage, he simply falls to the ground one yard short of the first down. Sort of set the tone for the rest of the game. Simply will not take a hit.

I love Tennessee. I love Volunteer football.

I find these player responses to be very impressive and extremely mature for a group of 18-22 year old men going through a difficult experience.

I cannot understand how some posters can criticize a guy like Herman Lathers who has given everything he has to this program.

Regardless of how you felt about Crompton's performance at Tennessee, how can someone be critical of a former player who is out publicly supporting our Vols.

As for me, I'm proud of how these guys are handling the situation. Of course I'm not happy about our w/l record, but for crying out loud the players are giving so much to the program. Let's support them.

Looking forward to a brighter future! Let's hope Hart makes the best decisions of his career in the coming days.

Seems like the 18-22yr olds are the only mature adults around! My blood runs ORANGE and the program is BIGGER than any man on volnation!!Tks to CDD for all you done at UT and best of luck in the future. Now lets look forward to what's out there and not in the rear view mirror, move forward TENNESSEE!!!

Football is a team sport, if someone is unavailable due to injury, gets kicked off the team, or flat out does not perform and staff refuses to play them, then it's up to those av ailable to go out onto the field, and fight to win. That's what I want these young men to do against Kentucky this coming week. Take the field with what you have and give it your best, you kids playing have my respect, and play with pride always when wearing the orange. Build teammates up not tear them down, God knows I've seen enough tearing kids down by some people on this forum more than likely never made their junior high team ... just sayin'

Name them...

allright jack wagon:
Sumelin
Cutcliffe
Fulmer
Kippy who should have been named interim and we wouldn't be the 5 alarm cluster blown up, blown out, joke of a program.
We had Hamilton, who gave the keys to one of the top 5 all time programs to a punk ass surfer boy, and vince dooley's idiot kid.

Never the less I am planning on attending the ut game against kensucky and cheering for the orange especially the seniors who deserve to be cheered on for their last run through the T for enduring all the crap they had to deal with.

Tiny: Hard times for us right now! #VFL

Saulsberry: I thank Coach Dooley for all he has done for us.#VFL

He held back on a fan who bashed Dooley, but let him know he was not pleased with the comment. Said he wanted to always respect the fans.

Only problem I have with this is some posters want to praise Dooley for helping Daniel Hood, yet conveniently forget how he bashed Pope for being a vegan. Both were his players. One he mentored, one he did not. Like the play on the field, his relationships with his players was inconsistent.

To the players: "When God closes a door, He opens a window." Better times are ahead. What's done is done and though it may not seem like it now, it is in your and the program's best interest. #VFL #GBO

Before you start spouting off junk about CDD's inconsistency--you better have all the facts about each situation...18-22 yoa FB players ARE INCONSISTENT--and treated individually! How do you know his efforts to mentor Pope??? He sure spent a lot of time attempting to help Jansen Jackson--and JJ chose to screw it up--:salute::salute:
