Players Speaking Up

Because people like yourself and Pacer92 seem to erroneously equate "if you guys don’t support us as human beings, don’t come to the games" to "if you guys aren't marching in a BLM protest, don't come to the games"?

Bad assumption, but that's on you.

Then why did he give an ultimatum to ALL of VN(fake fans)?

Wtf

You feeling called out isn't his problem. Maybe you should reevaluate you view black athletes who play on your favorite team, as more than just a means to win games, and instead as actually people unto themselves with identities that are wholly separate to the fact that they are football players.

Just a thought.

You sure you actually read it?

Because you seem to be completely disregarding what he actually said.

Good for Josh for trying to clarify any misperceptions. That said, still dont know what his complaints are about. Who is not treating them as human beings OFF the field?

Pretending that racial discrimination doesn't still exist in America in 2020, won't make it reality.

I don’t view any kid on that team other than a kid that got the opportunity to play athletics at no cost, which my prior post support...

Nice try of painting the racist or biased picture though, because you disagree...

Laughable..

Pretending discrimination of all kind doesnt exist all over this world at all times in history, takes a special kind of naivete.

Asians, Jews, fat people, bald people, ugly people, short people, Christians, Muslims, etc just dont act like millenials about it.

That's a straw man argument, and you know it.

Because of course you agree with him that recognizing that racial discrimination still exists in America, is somehow Marxist?

No, because BLM is founded by open Marxists, and because they walk and quack like Marxists I really didn't need them to say they were, anyway.

Mainly, though, just that his comment is addressing a convoluted movement, thus appears convoluted.

This tweet was nothing more than a young, black Tennessee football player that is chasing the proverbial racist, ghost, boogeyman that so many others are desperately seeking as well.

Fine.

His mistake was drawing down on the Neyland crowd that does nothing more than heap adulation on him for his contributions to our university and team. Somebody may not respect his “humanity”, but he’s not likely to find that boogeyman from his stage on fall Saturday’s.

Ill advised target young man.

Nope, everyone faces discrimination. It isnt right, but it happens. And always will. The vast majority is pretty meaningless and not detrimental to the offended.

I ask again, what is his specific complaint?

White people in America do not face racial discrimination in mortgage lending, the judicial system, or hiring.

Feel free to DM Palmer and ask him about his personal experiences with racism.

How does the existence of the BLM, negate the existence of racial discrimination?

Racism has now been deemed the worst sin possible per the righteous and each “offender” must be driven from the Earth because they are clearly a worse threat than rapists, murderers, terrorists, etc. There is also this pretend belief that racists are supported if you don’t make this huge spectacle condemning them. I always assumed it was understood that most civilized people condemned hatred of others simply due to their race but I guess I need to wear a t-shirt, Tweet about it, and riot in order to verify my support. Otherwise, I am a card carrying member of the Klan. Amirite?

Yes. It's not enough to simply observe that actual racists - whether white, black, brown, etc. - are a small faction of the populace, and extend to others the same courtesy you expect "no reason to suspect he's Aryan Nation" - but that's just not good enough. You must proclaim, often, that you are not a white (something awful). It getting like fundamentalist Islam in here...Stalinesque...

99% of Americans view them as people, it’s silly to suggest otherwise

Simply because a black person is turned down for a mortgage doesn’t mean it’s racism, banks are in the business of making money and to suggest that there are board level meetings where it’s decided that they will not do business with black customers is ludicrous. Bank loans for 99% of banks are decided at the executive level not some goofball sitting behind his desk.

Yes, a white person might face discrimination for another reason. Does that make it less worse?

We are talking about racial discrimination, why are you attempting to draw false eqivalancies to all other forms of discrimination?

Again, you are trying to create another straw man.

Did you actually read the study cited in the article? Because that is wholly not what their study found, nor was it the conclusion the researchers put forth.
