Poland. Where the sane folks are in charge.

Polish people are great. Most of my college class did a semester abroad in Poland, nothing but good things about it. except there is no sun for months at a time. stays pretty chilly, so if you are expecting the warm Florida retirement, Poland is not the place to be. Liked Americans but don't tolerate tourists too much.

Women were freaking gorgeous but have that eastern european problem where they are goddesses right up to the point they are little babushkas looking 95 at 45. but seriously a polish 8 was at least an American 9.5, and it escalated quickly from there.

Even the exchange students that came here were great to hang out with. very laid back and chill, typically weren't accepting of douches, which made them really easy to get along with.

The language, spelling mostly, is bat crapping crazy though, drop half the vowels in a word and replace them with c,z,y or w. Szczęście Źdźbło Żółć następstw Bezwzględny

They are still weirdly leftists for being conservatives, and you can really only say that when it comes to Europeans. They are a good bit collectivists compared to Americans. No guns, lot more universal this and thats, taxes are a good bit higher. they don't own nearly as much as an American is used to. Its still Europe. you probably aren't going to have a car. you are going to take public transit, you probably aren't going to live in the countryside. its not quiet like Germany where by highschool equivalent you are pushed into whatever "trade" school best fits you, but there is an idea of having a job that serves the Polish will, so some jobs are seen as not good to have. but its not necessarily the blue collar work, or even strictly white collar work that is frowned upon.

Their population has been dwindling a bit. so its not like they are pushing family values, where you daughter is going to be in a society that encourages her to have kids and get married. a good bit of swinging is acceptable there, again they are European, not as bad as some of the countries but as a couple you will find others wanting to join, as the monogamy isn't as strongly fixed as it is here.

they are "catholic" but its a little differnt, maybe from being behind the Iron Curtain, and the commies treatment of religion.

Had similar thoughts, not about Poland, but where could we move? I’ve come up empty.

Mostly because I don’t think it matters. When the US falls this world is going to see a period of darkness that touches every part of the planet, thanks to advances in technology.
The wife and I discussed it. But no one else has a 2A. Not giving up my granddaddy's Python. :)

My best friend is Polish. Not as in he took an ancestry dna test and found out he’s polish, but as in his grandfather was in a gulag, he speaks multiple languages, and his family occasionally still visits Poland. Seems like a decent place but likely lacking economic opportunity
I have worked with a lot of folks from Poland. Unless you are extremely educated (which Marcus' kids are), there isn't much economically to do there.

One of my best friends went on a church mission to Poland. He hated it, had depression (probably a lot to do with the weather), and I believe because of those scars living there, he's now no longer religious. He got robbed in the streets a few times (something that never happened to me or any of the 150+ I knew who did missions in Nashville among the "dangerous" illegal immigrant community).

IDK why you need to move countries to feel good about raising kids. If you're that sensitive to the threat of the world, I doubt anywhere is good enough. Just find a nice community within the US or don't have kids, you know?

My advice is to look for the good instead of focusing on the bad. You'll find whatever you look for.

How much do yall know about Poland? From all I read in the news, Poland is now like the US would be if there were ONLY conservatives. No liberal politicians with any power whatsoever.
Of all the nuttiness in the post this stood out. How can this ever be seen as a good idea? But if you can't figure that out enough to win an argument with a 14yo then maybe it's for the best.

Poland.

My daughter of 14 years now talks all the time about moving to Poland. Wants us to pull up stakes and move the entire family there. She also says she isn't ever gonna have kids because this country is already a cesspool and she thinks it is only gonna get worse. Wouldn't be fair to her kid to have one here in the US.

Several of yall already know this...but we are a very patriotic military family. My Dad and Pappaw both served 26 years each, my little brother was in the Army 5 years before he took his own life sadly at 25 years old. I was in JROTC , so were my brothers. We love this country very much. At least what it used to be. I am glad that my grandparents both died in the last 5 years, before they had to see what a sheithole this country is rapidly becoming. I could list all the garbage aspects....but there are already threads about them here in the PF.

Here's my problem: I cannot honestly win the argument that people in this festering liberal sheithole are better off than people in Poland. Nor that somehow the US would be a better place to raise her eventual kids than Poland. My main worry at this point in my life is what my childrens lives will be like after i am gone...when i am no longer here to help or protect them.

How much do yall know about Poland? From all I read in the news, Poland is now like the US would be if there were ONLY conservatives. No liberal politicians with any power whatsoever. Know how many terrorist attacks Poland has had? Zero. Compare that to France right around the corner who has them all the time. Know how many illegal immigrants Poland has? None. They do not allow the wave of Muslim rapists that are overwhelming the EU to enter their country, either. Know how they feel about all this delusional trans bullcrap and making up new sexes and pronouns? They dont allow that social disease to fester in their country like we do. Should I go on? Poland elected their own version of Trump and he got things done. They take pride in their country and seemingly have much higher standards than the garbage that is modern day culture here.

I never, ever thought this would happen. My family, both extended and immediate, has always been very patriotic and proud to be Americans. We still are now. So how then, with any intellectual honesty can i look my daughter in the eyes and tell her that HER eventual family will be better off raised here than there? Know how many school shootings there are in Poland? Bet you guessed right. What compelling argument could i make to her? The past is great...but it doesnt really matter in this situation. What matters is the future. Can anyone here with good sense convince me that i would be able to raise a safer, wiser, better Christian family in this country than in Poland,? Maybe do some google research about Poland if yall are not familiar with their society. All countries have their problems. I am sure you can buy more crap you dont need here than there...more material things in general here. Probably higher wages here too. Those things dont actually matter to us though. Quality of life, safety, old fashioned values and worshipping God is what really matters to us. Family values.

Which country is a better place to raise a family in your opinion? Why? I appreciate your input guys
Hey Siri, show me a thread filled with fear and resentment from aging white men.

How far right is Poland?

11 years ago, their equivalent of congress created a Parliamentary Group for prevention of atheism in Poland and it consists of 39 deputies and 2 senators. Sounds like their government has their priorities straight.
