I think it's roughly 6,000 years old according to the bible.
We both have to believe that by faith.
You have no such evidenceAnd in no way does that make you the same. You're operating 100% on faith and maybe unwilling to change your mind with new evidence. If the scientific community came up with enough support to change his mind he would have no reservations about doing it.
BTW, the Bible doesn't say the earth is 6,000 years old.
The Bible does not teach a young earth and it would not be consistent with what the Torah teaches about G-d.You have no proof of an old world just as I have to simply believe what the bible plainly teaches about a young earth.
If your response is to ask me to prove this then you didn't get the point of my post.
And simply put, we can trace genealogies all the way back to Adam and we know how old Adam is. Now the bible plainly teaches that Adam was made on day six of creation. In case you don't know how long that is, it's an evening and a morning just like we have today. The Bible does not teach a young earth and it would not be consistent with what the Torah teaches about G-d.
According to Torah
G-d is the creator of all things.
G-d calls himself the ancient of days. (Jewish idiom that means without number)
G-d calls himself the “Great creator “
G-d says that he’s “outside of time”
G-d is a lawgiver. Meaning everything is set on his laws. (We know through science that everything is set up on constants, or scientific laws.)
The 6 periods of creation match the development of this planet as taught by science.
Reality is that this place is very very old and G-d, who is without time , brought this current reality into existence in the last 150k years but the actual beginning of this existence is so long ago by our time that it’s beyond our comprehension.
There are no scriptures that say the creation is 6000 years old. There are no scriptures that give a date at all. The wording in genesis creation story insinuates a very old creation but doesn’t give a timeframe. To say it does is reading into it things that are not there. It’s almost like G-d didn’t think we needed to know or we’d figure it out on our own.
And finally it’s a little silly to believe that the immortal Without beginning Creator G-d finally got bored about 6000 years ago and thought “I think I’ll make some ****”

Biblically we can say that the earth is roughly six thousand years old.
Now then, you can twist the scriptures if you want to, but I lovingly warn you that you will stand before God with treating his bible deceitfully.
It's simple enough for me, I just believe the bible!
