You simply don't understand biblical slavery. You should really study biblical slavery. You seem to think in today's world and not the way it was in biblical times.

This dictionary is closer to the time the bible was written.

BOND'SERVANT, n. [bond and servant.] A slave; one who is subjected to the authority of another, or whose person and liberty are restrained.

You can find plenty of scholars that say slavery in the Greco-Roman times was brutal and no different than here in the 1500-1800s.

There's enough food in this world to feed that poor child.
All death and sickness comes from the curse of sin. Sin brought death and suffering into the world and man has chosen to sin. Man choosing to be sinful isn't God's fault.
Perhaps if we loved our neighbors like God commands us to in the bible, we could fix such problems as that.

The only reason someone mistreats someone else is because they simply don't believe the bible where God commands us to love one another. The orgin of suffering started with the first sin in the garden of Eden.
Romans 5:12¶Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
