So you can only win with old fashioned unis. Seems like the coaching and RECRUITING have more to do with it. We have to recruit nationwide but coach Nicky only needs Lower Alabama to field a team (exaggeration yes). But God forbid what if Tenn got a reputation as COOL! We have a damned fight song about moonshiners. Think 17 year olds who listen to rap can relate. Give me a break. We will never win like Bama but at least we can get our tradition soaked heads out of our orange butts and try something different or are you too scared?
See Clay Travis thread for reference. Maybe he spoke the truth about the fanbase!
Vol865, all of these options are characterizations of positions that have been advocated in uniform threads. "Ruin our tradition" is an exaggeration; it has been argued, however, that excessive use of radically different alternate uniforms could weaken our brand association, and it definitely is a defensible argument.
Im 27 and I love tennessee orange. However, my stepson is 13 and listening to him and his friends, eh love Oregons unis. So based on that I picked 3. Give me orange and white most of the time, but throw in something fancy occasionally and surprise me. I like the black posted above, but don't ever make it look like that cheap black jersey in 2009. That was exciting but poorly done.
You know what would be awesome....yet another thread that talks about UT's uniforms, how they need alternates, how the black jerseys were cool, and that Nike is better than Adidas.
Duh. It's not like there is even so much as one of those types of threads, much less 3-4 that have been started in the past week.
And yet you find your way in all of them whining and crying about "I don't want change!!!" Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. We get it, you don't want anything more than just plain Jane orange and white. Luckily you have no say so.
No **** Sherlock
If me posting my opinion about our uniforms in the uniform threads bothers you so much, by all means, feel free to put me on ignore. Perhaps that would be best for all of us, that way, with the burden of having to read my opinions no longer dragging you down like a lead anchor, you'll free up some time to grace us all with more insights that hopefully continue to be as brilliant as your previous two posts.
