I don’t get this whole “I can’t support this” in re: transfers on the team. So were you not supporting the football team led by transfer QB, Hendon Hooker, last season? I’m assuming you won’t be supporting Joe Milton this season then? I’m guessing you didn’t like all those clutch/game winning hits provided by Zane Denton and Griffin Merritt either?

Personally, I just hated all those moments. What a drag.

I have watched Tennessee baseball for decades… i was a fan and tracked them long before Tony V. I live in Alabama and would wait ever year to hopefully get to see them in Hoover at the tournament. Fans that don’t want plug and play great players are dumb. We should want to win. And Tony is doing whatever it takes to WIN. That’s all we want also is to win. So I am sorry the guy that has sat the bench and was looking to play this year but just got replaced by someone better but it is what it is. Nobody will care when the Vols are winning in Omaha.

Its not the sport I fell in love with as a kid. I loved watching a highly touted Freshman come in and struggle then by their Jr year they blossomed into a draft pick. Nick Senzel wasn't great as a Freshman but he stayed, worked hard and parlayed that into being the #3 pick in the draft. Rooting for guys like Kirby and Sewell is easy because you get to know them and their personalities because they've been here. There transfers, I couldn't care less about them, here today gone tomorrow.

I actually can’t understand your desire to lock an 18-20 year old kid up just for your viewing pleasure. If you don’t embrace change you lose.

What CTV is dealing with is Netflix or Hulu.

There are teams that changed coaches last year or this year that have a great deal of movement

12 Florida State players are in portal and 9 players have transferred to Tallahassee including 3 UCF players, 2 Alabama players, and a Gator
Wichita State has received 1 transfer in but 34 have transferred out.
9 Alabama players are in portal, 2 have transferred in from Big10 schools
Arizona changed coaches last season but have 11 in portal and 2 coming in
17 Baylor Bears in portal and 2 coming in as they changed coached 12 months ago
17 Coastal Carolina players are in portal after Gilmore announced next season will be last. 2 new are coming in.
11 Georgia Bulldogs are bailing on their new coach and 6 are coming in. None all that special

there's been a lot of transistion with position coaches at GaTech as they welcom 6 transfers as 11 exit
17 have bailed on Missouri and ZERO are transferring in. for Kerrick Jackson. That guy has an uphill climb at a program that has shown no real commitment to the program. At least at an SEC level.

To be fair, baseball is the most "plug-and-play" of the major sports. Football requires too many players to make a positive effect and basketball is a true team sport. Baseball is a team sport with nothing but one-on-one play.

Baseball is still potentially effected by bad apples in the dugout effecting morale.

I know Merritt was a one-year guy, but I really enjoyed getting to know him through all his interviews, etc. Man, what an outstanding guy. Glad we got to experience that.

I certainly don't think it's for the better. The combination of NIL and portal have completely changed college sports and I can think of no way to put the genie back in the bottle. Enjoy it for what it is.

It is here to stay till it changes. Get all you can when you can. TV paid to win, get these kids where they want to be. It is not cul de sac baseball everybody gets a trophy. enjoy it fans!

Funny, I don't remember you complaining this much about softball transfers, like when Payton Gotshall pitched a two-hit gem to beat Texas to get us to OKC or when Zaida Puni led the entire NCAAT in RBI including six homeruns. Or about Rickea Jackson or Jillan Hollingshead on the women's basketball team.
