Can play corner outfield too. Tony V is building the perfect team for him. He wants major competition and the cream will rise to the top. Also wants options, and last year they had very few in the field - had plenty of arms. There’s lots of guys who can play lots of positions. They’re gonna be able to whittle it down to their 13 best bats by conference play and be in a very good spot which multiple lefty and righty bats off the benchI looked at Bargo coming out of high school
He was the 2nd best prep player out of Nebraska
6'1" 190 lbs
Can play catcher or either corner infield.
We're getting pretty well full up at all three of those spots
Fall ball is going to be insane sorting out that traffic jam
Definitely a bullpen guy. Little interesting considering they actually have a lot of lefty bullpen options - Evans, Kirby, Sechrist, Behnke. Also have talented freshmen in Matt Dallas and Dylan Loy coming in. But at the end of the day you can never have too many quality arms. That kid is goodA lefty. Interesting. Bullpen guy?
Wyatt is a stud. Coming off a year with arm soreness though so you never know. Ideally you can use him as a bullpen guy but he could start if they need a 3rd starter. Causey has started too but I believe they like his stuff out of the pen so I’m not sure he’d be next up if they miss on Holman (I personally don’t think they will miss in Holman though)Wasn’t the staff big on Wyatt.. I know he’s got to come Back and get it but I thought they were high on him
At the end of the day all that matters is that you’re playing your best ball in June. This team will be ranked extremely high next year, and while I don’t think they’ll struggle early as much as this years team did, I will not be shocked if they are a little slow out of the gates. There’s going to be a lot of options and tinkering that will need to happen to whittle down to the best lineup.I hope we get things glued together a little quicker this coming season.
My son played on a team that had 7 lefties out of 10 players. It was nuts. Can play corner outfield too. Tony V is building the perfect team for him. He wants major competition and the cream will rise to the top. Also wants options, and last year they had very few in the field - had plenty of arms. I have always been knowledgeable about baseball, because of little league, keeping score etc---- loved the Braves till that baseball strike and greed--so I get how you feel. That said, I didn't follow VOLS baseball till Tony. I think he has actually brought interest from OTHER teams fans. It started with that crazy team they had last year. Now, look at the ratings when we play. I think I read that they are breaking records for college baseball. I don't think it goes back to the way it was-- VOLS fans won't let it. They'll expect the best now, like they do with football and basketball. (Yes, I know you dislike Rick Barnes, but we are in the tournament every year, and that's a far cry from the way it use to be)The flash in the pan thing is wrong, and I don't think Tony leaves, but for a lot of people baseball started like 3 years ago and they'll check out as soon as Tomy retires.
He certainly did run out of bounds, but let’s move on. That was then and now is now. Let is go!
Yeah, I misunderstood what he said. @chuckiepoo helped me understand the grammar nuance. What???
Totally get your point. Depending on if they will turn 21 within 45 days of MLB draft, many transferring true sophomores will be “one and done” as well. It will be an anomaly to have transfers around for 2 or more years. Its not the sport I fell in love with as a kid. I loved watching a highly touted Freshman come in and struggle then by their Jr year they blossomed into a draft pick. Nick Senzel wasn't great as a Freshman but he stayed, worked hard and parlayed that into being the #3 pick in the draft. Rooting for guys like Kirby and Sewell is easy because you get to know them and their personalities because they've been here. There transfers, I couldn't care less about them, here today gone tomorrow.
