Portal Activity (News and Rumors)

I’m newer to this forum thing, so this might’ve come up already. Why doesn’t Tony reach out to Danny Corona from Wake Forest for SS? Numbers aren’t eye popping (better numbers than current alternatives) but his impact was evident. Went to high school at Baylor in Chattanooga. Big frame for a SS, but could be a nice piece to add in middle infield. I also could be an idiot and not know what I’m talking about lol. Just a thought I had though.
I don't have an answer, but I didn't want you to feel ignored.

I think CMo might do pretty good in CF. But I could be wrong. If he was in CF, you play your next best two in the corners. Or maybe set up some kind of rotation between Ensley, Tears, Dreiling, and Chapman. And that's assuming someone from the incoming class doesn't work their way into the conversation.
Must work an available platoon situation. We sucked badly agin’ leftie junk ballers last year.

Check the schedule. Orange bowl late tomorrow afternoon.
I only mentioned the baseball games.

But our Orange Bowl whomping of Clempson is at 10 a.m ET, and Vols beat Bammaw is 9 p.m.

Vols beat (then ranked #1) Bama murderers in basketball is at 8:30 am.

That afternoon Clemson game is our baseball win in the regional!

I am happy for Ryan Galanie. I suspect he will sign and start his professional career asap. He is a very good ball player whose age more than likely cost him a higher draft position. But at the end of the day he got drafted. Good for him!

If he signs to play professionally (which was his goal) it takes some pressure off of Coach TV and staff. There will be no excessive pressure to play the older guy who is playing his last baseball.

I believe D. Dreilling will start in the outfield next year. More than once during an in-game interview this season, TV discussed the heart to heart conversation he had with Griffin Merritt. Griffin performed well and deserved to play but TV said by making Griffin our permanent DH he was keeping Dreiling the face of Tennessee baseball for years to come out of the lineup. Griffin put up big numbers so this was high praise for Dreiling from TV.

I also believe K.Tears will be a starter in the outfield. I thought Tears did enough last year to win the right field job. But a nagging hamstring sidelined him and Christan Scott stayed healthy.

Who will ever forget Tears' and Dreiling's ninth inning home run heroics off Vanderbildt's closer last year. Those two hits turned our season around. We were 5-10 in SEC play when those two young men with Chase Burns' help gave us hope. The rest is history.

That would be tampering and very rude of any coach to do that.

We've pulled it together a little bit now but the idea of losing someone I've been with for 35 years and really the only woman I've ever loved still doesn't seem possible. I shed more tears in two days than the rest of my adult life put together.
Buddy, keep your head up, stay strong for your wife and please know that you guys are in my prayers.
