Just looked it up Stanford averaged a shameful 1600 for their home games last year and that was near the top of the pac 12

yea it’s clear MSU is a better baseball package
MSU has won a grand total of 8 combined conference games at home the past two seasons. Home field advantage is really paying off for them.

Translation they SUCK....
We have scored more runs against MSU in 6 games than they have total victories in 2 seasons combined. In fact, if you want to go back to the SECT in 2021, we’ve outscored them by 57 runs in 7 games over a 3 year period. Think about that for a second…

It’s a interesting question

Would you trade their last 3 years for ours ??
No, because they clearly had one magical run and are not sustaining that success. Haven’t even made the SECT the past two seasons. We will consistently be in Super Regionals and more CWS opportunities. I’ll take my chances with Tony at the helm.

Agreed rather have consistent yearly results rather than the one year flash in a pan year!!

To be fair to Mississippi State, they do have a great baseball history but it’s clear the rest of the conference is pulling away from them. I would be shocked if Lemonis makes it past this season if they miss out on Hoover again for a third consecutive season.

If you take those three years in total isolation, then it’s close. If we look back in 10 years and MSU turns out to have just had two really crappy seasons and then bounces back in 2024 and is a perennial contender thereafter, then maybe you trade the two years for a championship, but I would never ever choose it on the front end — e.g. if you told me you could guarantee a CWS championship in 2024 but to get that guarantee, it would require missing the SECT in 2025 and 2026… I would never take that deal, given where our program currently is.
