It didn’t improve. I think it was hurt

Disagree. It did something for him. He looked elite on big stages where he was getting shelled before. Honestly the guys performance would have to completely tank for it to hurt his stock. The scout don't care about his ERA they're looking at his velo and movement and how it projects.

It may have made him better but you guys are missing the point
if that draft room Doesn’t see him as a 1-2 starter in a major league rotation he ain’t going in the top 5
keep in mind a kyle Wright went 5th overall with that projection

Closer type guys got no shot at that placement in the draft

I know what you're saying, but I'm saying the scouts do not care if he's pitching out of the pen or starting in college. He's a projected starter in the pros no matter what. They try and stretch out every elite arm. Vast majority of elite pen guys are failed starters. He's shown he can hold up over 6 plenty enough for them.

Honestly, the other stupid thing about this........ He came out of the pen and consistently threw multiple innings. In Omaha he threw 6. Even in the pen he was given ample chance to go long and face guys multiple times.

starters go the pen alot in baseball. Even to the minors when your stuff suffers etc. It did not hurt his stock. He refound what was missing over the stretch from the pen. His draft stock was not and will not be effected due to the happenings this yr. If there is a hard on by him for this move then that will effect his stock more.

Maybe it’s more fair to say this end of the year “helped his big league longevity” but “hurt his draft bonus”

agree to disagree is fine. He is not going to be looked at a reliever. He served his purpose for this team and his performance reflected it and he got better than what he was in the rotation. His fastball is very good but if the slider (only other pitch that he was throwing enough of) is not working as it was not, he continued to get behind hitters and they sat dead red. Dead red fastballs to better hitters in the sec or any other conference get hit hard and far. See Dollander case in point also.

Next year is going to determine that. If he can consistently throw a third pitch, he will be a very high pick regardless of this year. If ge doesn’t develop that, then he’s going to be seen more as a reliever.

Per Ben McKee:

Two baseball transfers to keep an eye on are Wichita State RHP Nate Snead and Alabama RHP Luke Holman.
Snead was really good for the Shockers out of the bullpen as a freshman this past season. Began a visit on Thursday and I believe it has gone really, really well.

Holman's name emerged this afternoon. I don't believe Tennessee is as far down the road with Holman as they are Snead, but I do believe they're going to have a really good chance at landing Holman. Would be a huge addition. Holman was Alabama's Friday nigh
t guy and struck out 87 in 81 innings. Opponents hit .186 off of him.

Get Snead and Holman tho. Tennessee will be fine

Exactly. Make sure Beam stays (honestly our best pitcher the last 2 years even with Burns and Do). Causey, Snead, Holman more than makes up for losing Burns. Progression of Russell and Combs. Add in our recruiting class and the comeback of Evans.
