Have to assume there's a reason for the pecking order of who gets the innings.
I would think the elite SEC teams have also stockpiled arms and have the same issues as Tennessee. This isn’t a Tennessee-only phenomenon.Aside from 3 starters, the next 4 most effective pitchers (in his opinion) pitch, the other 13-14 pitchers get what they get on Tuesdays. That’s not going to do if you’re a competitor…which they all are. There will be a revolving door on players every year going forward. But we already knew this. It’s like when Curt Flood opened the doors on free agency.
Yeah, that’s a good point. Tony seems to have stockpiled the best based on ERA. He’s got the best team ERA in the SEC by far (if I read the most updated version right). But our “bottom” 13-14 could quickly climb the ladder at Ole Miss, Georgia, Miss State or other that has a dismal ERA.I would think the elite SEC teams have also stockpiled arms and have the same issues as Tennessee. How did it get so bad so quick? Surely it’s more than just getting moved to the bullpen. Anyways best of luck to the young man and hope he does well in the MLB after next year. Next man up! We have the #1 recruiting class coming in and the #2 class for 2025 so far. The program is in great hands as long as Tony V is ay the Helm. I’ll trust what ever decision he and Frank make about our staff.
