I’m not really Greg Amsler. It’s just my moniker because I was a fan if his.

I remember coming to this board pre-Vitello and there were no new posts seemingly for weeks. It was hard to get info. And, as a prior poster pointed out, ESPN+ has changed everything for those of us who are baseball die hards.

But back then, following UT baseball was mostly about finding whatever online info we could and finding radio streams of the games.

I remember going out in my backyard to listen on the radio to the Helton, Trammell, Dickey, etc. teams on the radio. First team I recall listening to had Doug Hecker, Mike Basse, and Chris Freeman. Don’t recall if Keith was calling those games or not.

It’s fascinating to me how these coaches are having to mange their 11.7 right now. These high profile portal guys have to be getting damn near full scholarships. Imagine taking 6 portal guys and using half your entire scholarship budget. The returning kids have to be getting shafted on this.

Now hopefully the nil helps with this issue but dang it’s a hard thing to manage I’m sure

If the broadcast caught any comments from the bleachers, you heard me; I was one of the idiot fans heckling the other team at these games. Some of the best days of my life.
