- CainLike I said yesterday answering a few threads, I’ve been told the Amick visit went well this week. But haven’t been told many more details.
I have also been told (again) that he cancelled his Texas A&M visit, but he will be at Florida today - people in the Sunshine State tell me. I’ll see if I can get details on how his visit goes down there when he leaves.
Tennessee's next SS may be in the 2023 recruiting class. There are five player listed as SS.
Dean Curley listed by PG as the 123rd best prospect with a 9.5 grade.
Blake Grimmer listed by PG as the 124th best prospect and a grade of 10.
Ariel Antqua listed as the 132nd best prospect with a grade of 10.
Camden Bates listed by PG as the 363rd best prospect with an 8.5 grade.
Carson Rucker listed by PG as the 443rd best prospect but not graded.
A grade of 9.5 and 10 indicate you are and elite college prospect and should be drafted high in the MLB draft. If we can get one of Curley, Grimmer or Antqua on Campus that will be our SS.
Carlson Rucker is Jake's little brother and is ranked the best SS in the state of Tennessee. If he gets on campus he may win the SS job at some point in his career.
Camden Bates is another player who could be a factor if committed to the long game.
I don’t think so, but I’m sure they’ll get a better feel for it once he’s on campus.
They like him because he can play 1B/3B or either corner outfield. Could also DH. So there’s lots of spots they could throw him in the lineup based on need. Don’t think SS is one of them though. He’s basically Merritt 2.0 - older player, lots of experience, good kid, power bat and a mid major conference POY
How dare someone keep their mouth shut until they are ready to make it public. If I was in the same boat, I’d do the same to irritate people. But, i am a bit of an a$$hole.Well Cain at On3 has been asked about a dozen different times and each time he has responded with basically “I have heard nothing.”
Might be more fair to say he’s a 4th round talent. Word is, his asking will be too high to make it to college. But yeah, if he’s actually drafted R4, that’s an indication that he and the team that drafted him reached terms beforehand. Because if they don’t, he simply won’t be drafted R4. Kinda like Burns coming out of HS.If he gets drafted in the 4th round he won’t be in Knoxville.

One of the freshman for sure can win the job, but they’re probably going to hit the portal too. There’s going to be tons of options at that spot, we just don’t know exactly who which makes it hard to predict. Not all of those guys will be SS at the college level thoughTennessee's next SS may be in the 2023 recruiting class. There are five player listed as SS.

Regarding infielders, the Gamecocks seem to be done with recruiting infielders now with the addition of Parker Noland. Billy Amick is the most significant offensive piece on the board right now. South Carolina is in the lead group. But Tennessee has pushed and Florida is still lingering for the right-handed, power-hitting infielder.
Disagree He may go pro but more than before more kids are getting great NIL deals and can play on bigger level on College than spending these years in minor leagues. We will know soon enough. In CHRIST Alone
Respectfully disagree with you. If he gets drafted in the 4th round, he will sign with MLB. They very rarely draft someone that high unless they know they can sign them. Otherwise, they lose that draft slot money, and they abhor doing that.
that is nuts... he gets paid for another 12 years?Happy Bobby Bonilla day.

However, instead of paying Bonilla the $5.9 million at the time, the Mets agreed to make annual payments of nearly $1.2 million for 25 years starting July 1, 2011, including a negotiated 8% interest.
At the time, Mets ownership was invested in a Bernie Madoff account that promised double-digit returns, and the Mets were poised to make a significant profit if the Madoff account delivered -- but that did not work out.
