Meant to be a quote response, but it was to Kendall Rogers. He is referring to Galanie who has already committed to vols.

Doesn’t mean Amick isn’t on the way either. It’s possible he could pop at any time, but I don’t think he’s decided yet and if he has they’re keeping a very tight circle

I believe that is definitely on the agenda. The OF is a spot where no spots are locked down. They are content with Ensley if nobody pops in CF, but all 3 spots are very much up for grabs. And if they land all the targets they are after and any of the freshman or JUCO kids pop along with Dreiling Tears and Chapman taking the next step that people really think they will then they’re gonna have like 15 guys who are legit sec starters and only 9 spots for them

Wouldn’t be shocked to see some portal activity post fall. But it’s a good position to be in. Competition makes everyone better and I think Tony generally gets kids who don’t shy away from it

Peebles
Burke
Moore
Denton
Galanie
Amick
Ensley
Tears
Dreiling
Chapman
A potential SS transfer

Plus all the freshman and the two juco studs. Some of the freshman like Lawless and Rucker especially will be ready to hit as freshmen more likely than not

Is Gelanie capable of playing short? I know nothing about him other than his stats.

It’s fun seeing schools envious of our fan support and NIL now. Only a year ago these fan bases were calling us a “flash in the pan” and that we’d go back to our rightful place in the cellar soon.

High level competitive athletes have ego’s, are cut throat, and are selfish. You see it in the emotion he expresses. They turn that on come game time, then flip the switch off after. Burns is one of these guys.

As for what’s going on now, all the name calling & bashing from Vol Nation adults, he’s probably working on the switch that doesn’t really care what those people think. Machine like. It will serve him well.

We will find out during the draft next week or shortly after. I think they are leaning towards him being back, but with the draft you just never know and I think Tony has learned to be prepared for anything. Whether he’s back or not, they’ll be just fine, but obviously they’d love him back. He loves UT

I don’t think so, but I’m sure they’ll get a better feel for it once he’s on campus.

They like him because he can play 1B/3B or either corner outfield. Could also DH. So there’s lots of spots they could throw him in the lineup based on need. Don’t think SS is one of them though. He’s basically Merritt 2.0 - older player, lots of experience, good kid, power bat and a mid major conference POY

But I’ll preface that I am no baseball coach lol so who knows maybe they’ll try him at SS and he will stick there, but I don’t think that’s currently the plan. You never know what needs will dictate though
