History says a lot of attention will be directed at Tony V and UT....especially if the names we're being mentioned with actually sign on with us. You know the jealousy will drive any number of opponents to point fingers in our direction. As they say, the wind always blows hardest at the top. Pretty clear the powers/blue bloods in this conference aren't too happy with what UT has become in this sport.Everyone should report LSU.
And Vandy, too. Just because Corbin is a jerk.

It’s truly up in the air depending on who you talk to. But I think the vols kind of think he’s going to be back. Now they’ve thought that before and it’s gone the other way. All it takes is one team to like him and meet the priceOne could be DH, or they could alternate DHing and playing in the field. I trust TV to make the pieces fit. Whoever plays will have to produce both at the plate and in the field.
Is the train of thought right now that Denton won't be drafted high enough to leave?
No idea. Sometimes guys just aren’t playing well. Not sure if it was pressure or lack of focus or what. I think he’s a competitive kid and I think he’s a selfish kid (not necessarily in a bad way but he’s got an ego), but he’s got a lot of adults in his ear from the second that bullpen move happened and I think planeted the seed that Tony and Frank don’t care about him and never will. Obviously that’s wrong and I really think TN is the best spot for him, but some of these high profile athletes have people in their “camp” from a young age that don’t necessarily care about their own well being as much as the pocket book. I feel bad for the young high profile athletes in that regard, Burns includedWell said. Not sure what Burns' major malfunction is, but I would say the team and the coaches did everything they could to help him.
He ended the season looking great after getting his ass handed to him earlier as a starter. He should be extremely grateful.
Any thoughts on his early season problems as a starter after a very good freshman season in that role ? What changed from last year ?
I have no clue if the lsu part is true but I heard through an ex vol who is friends with active players on the team that burns made it very clear he was leaving as soon as they moved him to the pen. That’s not exactly the best for morale and chemistryBasilio has said...and obviously this is only a rumor since I wasn't ever present in the dugout...that Burns was in the dugout during games in the second half of the season actively saying he was going to transfer and that he was headed to LSU.
Take that with as large a grain of salt as necessary, but if even remotely true, I can't believe one of his teammates didn't knock his front teeth out and tell him to get packed. I couldn't hardly believe it when I heard it, but these kinds of comments from McKee seem to lend a little credence to the kind of distraction Burns might have been. To the level of openly talking of transferring and naming his choice in the middle of games??? Perhaps not, but maybe so. This whole thing sounds ugly the more and more you here, even if only partially true.
It sucks. Give me kids like Kirby, Sewell.... Ferguson, Russell etc..... kids that committ as a freshman and we get to actually watch grow and mature. Not whatever this crap is.
All these transfers aren't coming to ride the bench. They'll take prime spots from guys who have been here working their asses off to get a chance.
I'd rather see Kendro or Jaslove at short than Ammick. Give me DD or Tears in the OF. Give me Stark or Charlie behind the plate. Whether he wants to be here or not Give me a 3rd year Burns over Snead.
From what I know (again all 2nd hand info but from a decent source) I don’t think tennessee has landed a single guy they offered the most money to or at the very least strictly because of moneyHow do you know were even the highest bidder? If we were slinging cash in the transfer portal we probably get Tommy White last year. Jaslove and Kendro will also get a chance to win the job. If they produce, they’ll play. If they don’t they will not play.
Dreiling and Tears are also going to play. We’re only bringing in infield prospects. You’re just overreacting.
Galanie already is a vol. just waiting to announce for whatever reasonI know someone close to Galanie family. According to him, Galanie wants to be a Vol.
Re: Amick, things just seem to be trending in a good direction there. It could change, of course, but I think we’ve got a really good shot here.
