I agree. He was inconsistent defensively, he was decent on the right side. Surprisingly he was 3rd in the conference in walks which somewhat mitigates his higher-than-average strikeouts per PA.

CF is easier than the infield, so if we’re crowded in the infield (like, if we land Amick and Gelanie doesn’t go pro…or if Denton returns), Moore’s speed makes a lot of sense in CF. Also, one or two of the infield freshmen might be ready.

Eh. Not a fan of someone else using us for leverage again. Same thing with Reggie Crawford last year. This numbs my excitement.
Wonder if Amick is waiting to see what Galanie does with the draft? They both seem to be targeting that 3B spot. Galanie goes in the draft and Amick joins UT. Galanie stays with UT and Amick goes to UF?

Playing at Wofford is different than playing in the SEC. The pros will adjust his hitting numbers downward accordingly. And given that he doesn't have a position at which he excels, he might be able to improve his draft stock with a year in the SEC holding down a position and excelling at defense, too. So, I doubt he'll be drafted high. Question is, how low is too low for him to go? As Mookie said, after this year he has no leverage as a college return year would give him - but a really good season in the SEC at Tennessee could give him lots of leverage, so he will have to really believe in his abilities to have a great season here to turn down the draft.

As Burt Reynolds said in The Longest Yard, “Semi-Pro’s a joke”

Now SoCon is not a joke, but it’s not the SEC.

Resist the what round he needs to be drafted in talk because that really doesn’t matter. It’s about $ amount that matters. I have no idea what money he wants but it would be hard for me to expect a kid In this Position to turn down 250k and he could get that in any round or even as a FA

The most he would get in NIL is a few thousand and even that may be a stretch. We are not dropping 6 figure bags for baseball players lol

Just a few thousand? I’d say more than that

I don’t see us doing 6 figures either BUT if you combine the NIL money with the chances of upping his draft stock next year I could see it being worth turning down 100-200k

Maybe, but if he bets on himself that he will get 750K for playing SEC ball in the 24 draft, that would be a season spent making a half million bucks, plus whatever he gets from NIL.

Need all the bats you can get.
Always told my guys to be the best hitter you can, they'll plug you in somewhere.
Most of these kids can and have played multiple positions.

While this is true you also have to be worried about team chemistry. A disgruntled portal guy could ruin the Lockerrom
