I posted this earlier. I trust TV. I don’t trust the narrative like Wes Rucker and may have here have said that we should just stockpile bats with a specific plan. I don’t think TV is doing that

Truth is Wes rucker suggesting the Vols are just stockpiling bats that are too good to pass up and not necessarily for a specific Position isn’t reality. TV is too smart to just take a bunch of portal guys without a specific plan to play them in a specific spot. Like you say it becomes a Kentucky basketball team chemistry issue

I disagree, sometimes you just have to take guys now and find a spot for them later. In some situations you’ll sacrifice defense to get a bat in the lineup, for example Evan Russell

I was surprised at that too. I know they had to keep Grice in the game or they’d lose the DH but he played CF when the starter was tossed, so I’m sure he could have played LF. I couldn’t believe that they removed Amick from the game.

You are correct. Upon further review, The DH was lost only when Grice remained in the game after being removed from P. It makes it even stranger that he was placed at 1B in place of Amick. They could have simply pulled Grice as P but he could have remained at DH.

i believe they come into the league officially on July 1, 2024. So the 23/24 season (next season) will not include them. but the 24/25 season will start them in the league.

This is an interesting indication on just how poorly Amick was viewed as a defender by the Clemson staff. He was essentially removed from the game as the 1st baseman as a defensive replacement with Clemson leading. That’s not a good sign considering we are discussing him playing 3rd here

Sure we have proof. Amick was pulled when Clemson led 4-2. That’s a classic defensive replacement move made by coaches/managers when they make upgrades defensively
