Georgia's 2025 recruiting class per On3: 93.068 points
Tennessee's 2025 recrutiing class: 91.702 points.

Fewer than 2 points separate the two classes but they are serious about winning championships and I guess we're just dicking around.
I’m not the one arguing at Tennessee is serious or not because I know they are

However, 1.3 points average per player is a good amount, especially when you’re at that top-tier

That's just a bad argument. It's not at all when the transfer portal exists and Georgia loses guys they didn't want to lose to Texas and we're bringing in guys like Lance Heard and Jermod McCoy.

For a group who obsesses over recruiting and portal rankings, you'd think you'd expect more from that #1 portal ranking that everyone was raving about last year
All the evidence we have points towards recruiting rankings being virtually irrelevant in this new era of College Football. They just aren't that important and these services are doing an awful job evaluating and ranking guys out of the portal. None of these pay websites' rankings should be used to make any kind of point anymore. It's just a stupid thing to even bring up. Some teams, like Alabama for instance, is spending big NIL $ to land stud recruiting classes just to see these guys transfer out a year or two later for greener pastures. You're making a huge mistake if you use recruiting rankings to prove absolutely anything.

But hey, at least Alabama was able to win the commitment of the coveted punter transfer from the Colorado School of Mines.

Kiffin trying to buy another shot at the playoffs. Since that worked so well this season. Between this and the Bama CB, he’s tampering like hell.

Side note, how is Ole Miss throwing around more cash in the portal than even the big dogs? Kind of insane how Kiffin has amassed such a war chest at a mid-level SEC program historically.

Thompson sounded like it was going to be real tough for anyone to beat Tennessee after his visit. "You other schools, man, you've got to get a good bargain, man," Thompson told GoVols247's Ryan Callahan after his visit. "You've got to do good, because Tennessee, man, it's a real kept-up place, man. I like it a lot here, so it's good. …"

I really believe that was the plan, he didn't come and say it me but I was thinking that. Oh for sure, definitely will. He said his phone has been blowing up. Its a couple teams I have in mind, but I'll wait to reveal who I'm thinking lol. I'll ask him when he comes home for Christmas and see if I'm right.
I'm still crossing fingers for VaTech

Transfers are fools gold. We've relied on it too much to date and should far less going forward.

Transfers in the starting 22 by the team's ahead of us in the CFB Playoffs:
  1. Oregon - 14
  2. Georgia - 2
  3. Texas - 6
  4. Penn State - 3
  5. Notre Dame - 4
  6. Ohio State - 3
We have 8.

We need to recruit high school better and develop better. Not do more the portal.
So number 1 oregan has the most.

Ok completely shoots down your theory.

Thank you @Freak for providing such an amazing free site for Volnation 👊🏻👏🏻🍊🔥

Yep thanks Freak. I posted this guys exit interview with AP from youtube a few pages back. He loved Tennessee. If we really want him, I believe he is ours for the taking. Seems like a sharp kid too. I know Coach Garner is a bit of a hardazz...but these Dlinemen would be foolish to not play for him given a chance. We will likely put 4 maybe 5 defensive linemen in the NFL this season between the draft and UFA contracts. Coach probably has the best track record of any Dline coach in FBS.

Has felt this way for a few days now

They will take their time IMO. Must be perfect fits.

IOL and DT need to move quick that market is tough
Oh you mean because we kept losing RBs and WRs to the transfer portal?

Good call, genius! Nostradamus is blushing..☺️

No.
That’s one team. And that coach is only in year 2

Check back in Tennessee 2022 team and see how many starter they had via transfer portal.
That was year two for Heupel.

You get the right transfers and you can have a quick turnaround but you need to be getting high level HS talent that is maturing behind those immediate older transfer guys.

Because you don’t want your roster to entirely depend on transfers. Then they just become merchants. And with that you could go 11-2 one year and then 4-8 the next because you haven’t been building a program or the right culture.
