Agree but not elite day one starters... Webb and Leacock are out and never did much to cement a starting role, so really just Matthews is our one true 5* elite type kid... Definitely a headscratcher...Depends on what site you are looking at. We did bring in 2 WRs in each of the past 2 signing classes who were in the On3 top 100 overall. Leacock and Webb were also top 50 overall recruits in previous classes.
They are out because we brought in Thornton and Brazzell. It's tough for your HS talent to see the field when you bring in transfers that take their repsAgree but not elite day one starters... You can't bring in more guys who you invest in/make promises to and that not affect your HS guys that are already on the roster. They took reps and development from Nimrod/Webb/Leacock. Could those guys have developed more if they had gotten more reps? Absolutely.Leacock has been Injured so his not seeing the field has nothing to do with transfers.
Webb and Nimrod had plenty of chances and are very middle of the road.
But will we win championships? If not, then Heupel is just our Mark Richt. Winning titles is and always should be the goal. And Heupel has the hunger. His goal is to win titles.
