Yes I agree. Would take either one. Although Clement has faced a bit stiffer competition. And with him being a former walk-on, it shows he is a hard worker. I can see the potential to be an NFL caliber wide out, i.e. Welker, Cupp, Edelman, etc.The Dallas kid from Georgia Southern is stupid good as well
Talk to me at the end of next year.
Fla also stacked the line knowing Tulane's,s 3rd string QB can't pass. He would also play behind a much better Oline than what he had at Tulane. Dude is a beast. That’s 0.2 ypc more than the RB you’re drooling over had today in his one game against SEC competition.
Lewis is just a freshmen. He’ll improve.
I’m not looking at competition? I’m comparing Hughes against the 1 SEC opponent he played to Lewis, who played against SEC opponents. Hughes averaged 3.6 ypc in that game. So I’m absolutely looking at competition. You also aren’t looking at competition. But okay.
Put Hughes behind our OL and he’s probably the best back on the team.
I’m sure he’s good. So is Peyton Lewis.Fla also stacked the line knowing Tulane's,s 3rd string QB can't pass. He would also play behind a much better Oline than what he had at Tulane. Dude is a beast.
I think Lewis will be very good at some point. Atleast I hope. Just saying we could use help with a guy who's got some experience. I think Bishop and Morris will be beasts at some point, but definitely no harm in adding more experience and speed at the RB spot. We were damn close this year on having to rely on Keith to get meaningful snaps. That's not a good position. Luckily we didn't, but you never know year to year.I’m sure he’s good. So is Peyton Lewis.
An inferior OL is a variable that favors Hughes’ argument. Far inferior competition is a variable that cuts the other way, however.
Lewis is going to be a really good RB. He's not a patient runner right now and it has led to him bulldozing into the pile for small gains more often than not. That's probably just his inexperience showing. He's been looking better recently and it wouldn't surprise me if he wins the job this Spring.Anyone can go and check these stats, could have done some wrong maths.
Each RBs average carry in SEC play their freshman season:
Sampson: 9.1 yards per carry in SEC play
Gray: 6.5 yards per carry in SEC play
Hurd: 4.5 yards per carry in SEC play
Lewis: 3.26 yards per carry in SEC play
I’ll add this one as well since “quality of the OL” isnt a factor, then nothing else should be a factor
LEN’NETH WHITEHEAD: 5.9 yards per carry in SEC play (His redshirt FR year, but had a season ending injury the year prior)
And if he does, kudos to him and everyone can point and laugh at me. I’m sure a lot do already and that’s also okay.Lewis is going to be a really good RB. He's not a patient runner right now and it has led to him bulldozing into the pile for small gains more often than not. That's probably just his inexperience showing. He's been looking better recently and it wouldn't surprise me if he wins the job this Spring.

And he took a **** on KSUI literally said in another post, “An inferior OL is a variable that favors Hughes’ argument. Far inferior competition is a variable that cuts the other way, however.”
So you’re setting up a straw man.
I’m not opposed to the Tulane RB. I just think it’s funny to drool over him while marginalizing Lewis when Hughes was mediocre in his one game against an SEC team.
Here’s another stat: Hughes averaged 1.7 ypc against Memphis.
Hughes is good. Lewis will be too. That’s my point.
