Boo has a long way to go to be compared with Carl Pickens. CP was a difference maker on defense. Boo was ok as a freshman, CP was freshman All- American and All SEC safety as a freshman. CP led SEC in kickoff returns as a freshman with one TD return. CP had 4 INTs as a freshman with one pick six. Boo has potential, but he is nowhere near Carl Pickens after his freshman year.
I understand your comparison. I hope Boo shines on offense.

Technically, Pickens was a redshirt freshman, but I completely agree with you. Defensive MVP of the Bowl game, iIrc, also. Pickens is on my Vols Mount Rushmore

He’s 6’-3” or 6-4
Seems like great safety size
Hell, 2 cbs isn’t enough really need minimum 3 and hopes of having 5 that can play and not drop off too much

Davis would be a safety or STAR here, great size & length. But not SEC speed to be a CB imo.

Honestly I like our third guy too. But yeah, if he can play safety, would be a great addi.

No it’s not. He said his coaches did a great job of preparing them for what TN likes to do. Then you ran with the title of a clickbait headline from a notoriously crappy click bait journalist (Zach Ragan).

Nothing along the lines of “I knew what they were going to do because they were very predictable” was even remotely stated.

Instead the player in question says his coaches prepared him well for what TN likes to do out of different sets.

He looks tough. Personally I want Spillman, Carter, and the 3 freshman LBs that are all Top300 players to get all those snaps next season. Coach Inge will have his work cut out for him....but our LB room could be as good as any in the country in 26 and especially 27 seasons IMO. We have 5 kids that UGA, Bama, and everyone else wanted at LB. I think Inge is an upgrade at LB coach and he has recruited at a truly elite level since he got here. Coach Inge is an example of CJH making a great assistant hire...yet everyone whines that he only promotes from within etc. The WRs sucked this year, but I don't yet see any logical reason to fire Pope when his WR won UTs 1st ever Biletnikoff Award 2 years ago...and. landed 5 WRs from HS that were all highly rated in 24 and 25 classes. I know Dodson is a 3* WR on some services, but he has elite quickness/speed and his offer list was stout like the others. Excited to see Dodson backing up Staley in the Slot next season.

Easily a 5* and a Parade All American. He was redshirted if I'm not mistaken so his stats compared to Boo are not exactly oranges to oranges.

Carl Pickens is still arguably the best WR to ever play at UT...and we were WRU when I was a kid. All American, and a perennial Pro Bowl guy. He was silky smooth in his routes like Jerry Rice. We had so many good WRs between 1990 and 2005. Those guys in Hypes offense would put up videogame numbers IMO.
