Carl Pickens is still arguably the best WR to ever play at UT...and we were WRU when I was a kid. All American, and a perennial Pro Bowl guy. He was silky smooth in his routes like Jerry Rice. We had so many good WRs between 1990 and 2005. Those guys in Hypes offense would put up videogame numbers IMO.
Pickens - 109 receptions, 1875 yds, 13 TDs
Meachem - 125 receptions, 2140 yds, 17 TDs

Both over 3 yrs.

Not saying one is better than the other…just in case anyone wants to argue the point. 😁😏

I see you didn’t mention Nico..

Pickens was much better. Stats are often a result of the types of offense they played in. That’s why Joey Kent is Tennessee’s all time leading receiver.

Cornbread Pruitt is such a clown. Good read, though. Thanks @CobbVol.

Yep. Good articke. Stupid ending though. We aren't going to the playoffs next season...and thats OK. Bet the Vegas over/under for wins is 8 next year. Might be 7.5...i think 8 though. We are gonna be young on the Oline, at LB, EXTREMELY young and inexperienced at WR, and young in spots on the defensive line. Likely young at Safety too. Next year is a "reloading/learning year". 2026 will be another run at the playoffs IMO.

Alvin Harper is another guy I always thought was one of the best we have had. Then you have guys like Willie Gault and Cordarrelle Patterson who were probably the best playmakers.

Agree on all.

Patterson is an amazing athlete. Word on him from here and the Vikings was that he didn't have it between the ears. Couldn't learn the playbook. I am dead serious. Lucky for CP, the Falcons decided to use him at RB as well as a returner...which he was ProBowl caliber. Just hand him the ball and watch him go. Thankful we got to watch him in Orange. Amazing athlete.
